Another 2 Seasons of South Park

Cliffhanger

Looks like all the speculation about it coming to an end soon was wrong.

'South Park' to return on Oct. 5, and all the way through 2013. Kick-ass.

A celebratory dinner at Casa Bonita is in order, PopWatchers: The date for the second half of the 15th season of South Park has been announced! Comedy Central confirmed to EW that the animated series will be returning on Wednesday, October 5 at 10 p.m. The latter half of the 15th season will include seven new episodes.

The network also likely put the fears of many fans to rest that the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were calling it quits after they alluded to a possible end to the series during June’s mid-season finale “You’re Getting Old.” Parker and Stone are signed on through 2013, Comedy Central told EW, which will bring the show to a staggering 17 seasons. So while it seemed like the duo had one foot out the door (and the other one on the Broadway stage with their Tony-winning hit musical Book of Mormon), South Park fans can breathe a sigh of relief, and inhale a few more Cheesy Poofs, for at least another two years.

But I’m curious: Are you happy to hear this news, PopWatchers? I can’t imagine many of you wouldn’t be, as you voted South Park the greatest animated television series of all-time. Does this news make the surprisingly touching “You’re Getting Old” feel a little less poignant? Or are you just relieved to know there’s still at least a few more seasons of hilariously offensive adventures to be had from Colorado’s funniest foul-mouthed fourth graders?

Good to hear. Hopefully their hearts are in it and they don't drag it on too long. Or worse, delude themselves into thinking they're churning out great stuff when it is in fact shite (RIP quality Simpsons)

Am I the only one who enjoys 'new' Simpsons?

Great news nevertheless. SP is easily in my top three shows of all time.

I don't think that South Park would ever really die off the way The Simpsons did because of the way started to put shit on current events and celebrities a while ago.

Whilever people like Kanye West are alive then South Park will be funny.

I do prefer the older episodes which were more creative in story though.

While ever America remains the dumbest nation on earth South Park will continue to be funny, there is just so much material for them to use. The show is now pretty much a satire and they pretty much have a free reign to give it to ever they want. I doubt they will reach the heights of series 13 which IMO was their best series ever.

South Park is so awesome. From about 2006 it has just got better and better.

That China/Jap ep this season had me in stitches.

Havent watched south park for years, mainly due to apathy. Thought season 5-9 or so was gold though.

yes, yes you are i havent watched a simpsons episode made after 2004 its just dropped since then, but south park has been going from strength to strength, matt and trey are dead set genius's and 98% of the time they are spot on when they rip on someone, like the 9?11 conspiracy show, where the 911 conspiracy was actually a government conspiracy, i reckon theyll know when to pull the plug. but i reckon they could keep going for at least another 5 seasons, because of the style of the show they come up with an episode in a week which is why theyre show is very topical
