Kiwis centre Shontayne Hape could be the next New Zealand league player to adopt the red rose of England.
The Herald understands the Bradford Bulls star has agreed terms with Premiership club Northampton and that the deal is subject only to the granting of a work permit. Hape is contracted by the Bulls until the end of 2009 but would likely have a get-out clause in his Super League contract.
Like former Bradford teammate and close friend Lesley Vainikolo, who exercised his own get-out clause mid-way through last year, Hape would qualify to play for England on residency grounds.
