Really Vossy? Sure it is upsetting but maybe he didn't think he had a choice.

In the last 3 months we have lost a club boss who is apparently very well respected and was hyped as the best possible choice to drive through the vision of the club, a coach who had a good record and a well respected CEO.

Maybe it is co-incidence, maybe the problems are deeper than that and they all got sick of banging their heads against the wall with no sign of improvement. Maybe felt they had no choice to leave.

But hey, we have to be positive don't we.

Also, Fisk is a Sharks man. This is his 2nd trip. By all accounts, the current chairman has put one of the top coaches offside, big time & we have lost him. if this is the case, it does not bode well for us securing players & our new coach.
I'd say we have very little chance of securing Baz again for next year now.
I am very, very concerned & did not expect this.

Seriously, can you make up your mind. A few days ago you were saying that Dicky left so that he could save the club money, now it's the chairmans fault. More lies????

I won't even touch the Barrett one.

Losing Fisk is not a concern, his contract finished in June, and he chose not to renew, he is great friends of Ricky Stuart who just resigned, after a disastrous job at the helm.

On Barrett well he was signed by Ricky so he goes he goes, let Flanagan build the team he wants, Barrett wont be the last of Rickys signings to go, Flanagan whilst you are at it look at Cuthbertson as well

What players will come to a club with so much instability? There is no escaping paying overs to get any decent player to the club.

This time last year we were in a much worse position and we still signed a few.

Who says there is a lot of instability there. Ricky has decided to move on with Flanagan already in place and now promoted. Sorted. And now Fisk is not renewing his contract. Whats to say the board wanted him or offered him a renewal anyway?

Why are people thinking losing Fisk is necessarily a bad thing? He came in and did a job. He is 60 years old and was never going to be a long term CEO. And he is not a true CEO anyway. He is a marketing specialist. The club can and will do much better.

Sometimes with companies in major trouble the people brought in to save and stabilise them are not necessarily the best people to then take the company forward. There are better people out there to take the club forward.

 Best paid bench warmer in the comp.

Can you tell everyone how the club will find a better CEO? Afterall, you said the club can do better.

Maybe he is but he is not on straight $200k. Lots of incentives in there.

Anyway the point you made was not about Cuthbertson it was you questioning what players would want to come to the club at the moment. And like I said, the club did alright last year and is in a much better position now.

As for the CEO, well you seem to know everything about the club but I wouldnt think it would be that difficult to understand. Fisk is 60 years old who specialises in sales and marketing. Other essential skills for a CEO are not necessarily his strength. Hopefully the club will advertise, would be stupid not to, to attract the next Todd Greenburg. I am sure there are a few out there. Even Grant Mayer, whats he doing these days.

Grant Mayer now is with the Western Sydney AFL team I think.

Fisk leaving is not a huge surprise given that he was on a 12 month contract and is tight with Ricky Stuart. He has previously filled marketing roles and not the CEO role. The club learned the hard way with Zappia that there is a significant skills differential between a functional leader (marketing manager football manager) and a CEO. The recruitment for this role needs to be handled very well. We need a genuine business leader who can instill professionalism throughout the organisation to get it moving forward. Greeburg does seem to be a standout at the moment.

The strong reaction to Fisk's departure is understandable given the huge turnover of key staff in the past year. This level of turnover is not often the sign of a healthy organisation. Perhaps this is part of the overall plan to bring in a new leadership structure? Hopefully, all will be revealed on Monday to ive some reassurance to he supporter base.

SO why employ him in the role so quickly in the first place? Why not have a better look about?

Coming into peak time for recruiting you don't thinkit is a problem having a new coach and no CEO, with our reputation for dodgy finances?

Surely if as you say he was never meant to be anything other than a short term appointment then they could have managed the transition a lot better i.e. advised him a while ago the contract wouldn't be renewed and have a replacement ready to go.
