Hook handled himself extremely well. I believe he was honest, and gave his perspective on the situation. He was respectful and showed very little bitterness towards the club, but did so to a degree towards Gus.

Yes he claimed to have contributed towards the success, because he did. He wasn’t the man to take us forward though.

He thinks Ivan would be a good replacement.

He said Gus runs the club and will be coach for the rest of the year.

I was impressed by how Hook handled himself. Well done Hook and all the best.

We win the premiership and Gus gets all the credit. Clever bloke this guy.

Can't blame him for speaking like it was a job interview, but I thought he spoke really well. Basically seems like Gus wanted more set plays, Griffin wanted more of a grind. When Hook wouldn't listen, Gus seemed to get others to pass on message, and I guess that is why Gus was saying he doesn't listen. I guess proof will be in the pudding. Hopefully we give the comp a good shake with more flare.

Just watched 360 and what a crock of shyte
Griffin gives his account of what happened...immediately Gus is at fault...did they really expect Griffin to agree with Gus account of things...they obviously listened to 6 tackles with Gus and totally disregarded it, I found it an agenda filled piece of rubbish

OK Here goes recap of interview:

Hook brought to club to bring junior players. Claims junior development a mess and he Hook organised the pathways to sucess,

Went on about how he brought NRL from wooden spoon to top 4. Didn't mention injury curse or 15 or Ronnie Palmer.

Blow up during dogs game. Gould horrifed with how the players played. Hook was amused a little by this.

Claims that the players weren't tough enough until he arrived.

No mention about staff relationships either.

Admitted that came to Gould playing no speakies with Hook.

Different coaching ideas. Hook believed in grinding out games. Gould liked flair and attacking structure and plays.

Said that Gould wasn't up to date on latest coaching methods.

Admitted he had a problem with Matt Moylan

To be honest it sounded like a job interview.

Both this and what Gus said today was total crap

Jesus Christ, this club is a cluster f**k! We lose a once in a generation talent, after having him playing in the wrong position for 1-2 years - to keep an ORDINARY coach. We waste another year, give him an EXTENTION then sack him before the original term is up. So we not only wasted an extra year but now are liable to pay out the contract. Added to that is the next coach in will cost MORE because we now have a deserved bad reputation for sacking coaches early (can't be trusted) and you'll work under someone who is essentially an egomaniac. Bloody great.

I applaud Gus for helping the club become financially viable, building the academy and putting the structures in place. But his recruitment and retention of players and staff has been very very ordinary. We are constantly rebuilding, and constantly inexperienced in key positions because of poor decision making and he should shoulder most of the blame for that.

I would like to believe what Gus said on the podcast.

But if any of what he said was false, then surely his position is unteneable.

Let's be honest. Both sides are going to try and paint themselves in the best light possible.

Although even the way Hook bragged about certain things at the club you could see we had gone as far as we coild with him. The club was rebuilt before he got here yet he seems to want to be in a permanent rebuild phase.
