So Griffin likes the grind. We all knew this, but now he confirms it.

Question is, where we any good at it? I don't think the team was a very good grinding team at all, in any way. Too much ill-discipline and handling errors, and not enough muscle in the forwards. We won most games playing a bit more freely, I think.

I don't know.

What team has won the premiership throwing the ball around with flair?

I can tell you which ones have won premierships off the back of grinding wins and playing tough football.

I can’t decide who’s telling the truth but this is all very interesting.

Just watched 360 and what a crock of shyte
Griffin gives his account of what happened...immediately Gus is at fault...did they really expect Griffin to agree with Gus account of things...they obviously listened to 6 tackles with Gus and totally disregarded it, I found it an agenda filled piece of rubbish
It was like your typical NEWS Corp circle jerk. Can't wait for this week's Footy show for Gould's reaction if he is on it.

I agree to an extent, but we were never a good grinding team under Griffin.

I disagree.

I think we have been a mentally tough team for a while. We’ve won games off the back of talent and the ability to hang in there. Grinding for mine isn’t about choking the opposition but giving yourself every chance to win a game. Which we do when we’re not making errors.

We dont have a grinding roster. Hooks wants a young squad... he wants those young guys grinding out wins. That will never eorkm

Our squad cant grind games out so falls back on natural skill and wins games anyway. Hook doesnt play to our teams strengths. Nevermind them winning games with it when his plan fails

He definitely made us mentally tough - or at least, him being at the club made the players mentally tough, if you believe the stories that they players don't like him.

But grinding is very much about choking the opposition and surgically scoring when you get the chance. Pretty much the exact opposite of how we win.

That's not the grind though. That's just being mentally tough.

We will see how we perform under a new coach I guess.

There’s every chance we could play poorly and this will all be a complete disaster but it could go the other way.
