DWZ, CHN and Merrin/Maloney in that order were our worst. Maloney was invisible for most part.
DWZ bombed atleast one try. A 2nd too if you class the pass to unmarked Cleary that went to ground. 4 errors in total.

CHN missed a tackle that led to Fainu and DCE's tries. Lost ball in a play the ball and gave a couple of soft penalties away

So on Thursday night Matty Johns Kent was tipping McGuire to take over if Griffin goes. Ignoring the arguments of pro/anti Griffin I think McGuire wouldn't be terrible.

Depends why he got the ass from Souffs really. In theory it would be good but our squad is locked up long term. Who best can work with that should get it

I agree. The media talk was all about things getting stale but no idea what really happened.

They are also heaps younger now he left. Some coaches prefer older rosters... Maybe he is one. In that case he'd be a terrible fit.

We keep our full strength team on the field we are top 4 regardless of the coach anyway

Again I agree. Personally I think Ciraldo should be next in line as he'll be comfortable with the players and won't need to overhaul the club to fit him. This works whether Griffin gets sacked or not.

I've got a better idea. Keep the bloke we've got, and with the money saved send another big cheque to the drought stricken cockies in the central west.

I was trolling. I have no idea if Griffin will be here for the length of his contract. My comment was about McGuire and whether he could do a good job. I think he could.

He has potential(obviously) but I wouldn’t want to be giving him our team. He was like a drill sergeant type who really just pushed them way to hard, that can work for a little while buts never going to last. He let GI play a half of footy with a busted acl in round one last season, that’s not good for the club or the player.

If he learnt some lessons from his sacking he could go on to be a good or great coach imo but I’d rather take a risk on someone with new ideas.

That Seibold looks like the best coach in the game right now.

Well one big thing is he’s getting his moneys worth out of the burgess boys which macguire hasn’t been doing the last two years. All three are on very large contracts and every time I watched Souths last year there was a burgess giving away a penalty or dropping the ball. It would be like having two Merrins(on current form) and Tamou on a much bigger contract and without an RCG, kikau and Yeo to pick up the slack.

That probably doesn’t make much sense lol.

I got what you mean. To turn that pack around is insane.

How quickly people forget McGuire took Souths to their first premiership in how many years? He had the whole Burgess clan playing as well as they are now, if not better.

He may have overstayed his welcome & things began to stale under him but the bloke can coach.

He had them playing really f**king good for a couple years but they couldn’t maintain it. Last season the twins in particular looked like the most overpaid players in the game.

That’s what I mean about his style, you can’t keep a squad playing at that intensity for more than a couple seasons. Remember the year after they won it they went hard and won the nines, the English preseason tourney and went undefeated for like 10 to 12 weeks then completely died in the ass and never got close to that form again. He definitely has what it takes just needs to develop his style a bit.

Seibold has done well don't get me wrong. Though how would Maguire or someone go with the dream run of injury? It is why these things are hard to tell one year in
