This one of the new supporter shirts, move the logo to the chest (smaller) and put NRL logo on other chest, add a sponsor and it's a pretty good jersey design.

Hahahaha at this shirt, designed by a schizophrenic!!!!
Pure gold!!

No, No, Not at all.
That's not what I am saying.

I am saying that Phantom Bart shouldn't have insinuated that I (and others) are unaware that we are being used as capitalist pawns and are easily led if we refer to Parra Stadium as Pirtek in casual conversation.
Fair enough. Some people are happy to be knowingly used as capitalist pawns to promote random companies. Others are easily led to be/do the same.

I don't think the companies are chosen at random. Also, do you own shares or have superannuation?
The companies aren't "chosen" - they randomly choose us and we take whoever we can get!

I don't have shares, do have superannuation - but I don't go around wearing a t-shirt with my superannuation fund's logo on it, or a jacket with the logos of any of the companies my super fund might invest in.

(I assume you asked, because you wanted to attempt a comparison of sorts...)

I asked because I want to understand your hostility toward businesses that can afford to advertise on professional sporting uniforms.

Lol, there's no hostility.

Dyldam appear to be cowboys who didn't even pay up this year, and Pirtek had a chairman that sought to gain too much additional power by sitting on the board.

If we could "choose" a less random sponsor with a better moral compass than the above two, I'd be happier. It's still going to be a business seeing it as an investment to make some money.

But that's still a separate point to wondering why people reportedly don't buy the plain branded Parra gear in the same numbers as those who "wait for the sponsor" in the interest of perceived authenticity.

What authenticity is there other than what is perceived? If there's anything that exists in the eye of the beholder it is authenticity.

For people into wearing the stuff the players wear, if it doesn't have the sponsor it's not the same.
