Eela I find it very hard to believe that we had to get rid of Vella to top up Haynes contract. Look at the players that left

Morrisson 300k
Stringer 240k
Morris 150-180k
Widders 120-150k
Mckinnon 120-150k
Petersen 100-120k

Then you have Delaney, Farrar, Afamasaga, Peek, Lewis, Williams

Cannings would have had his contract downgraded.

The only real names we bought were Finch and Ian Hindmarsh, Lowrie would have came cheap. All this with a 600k salary cap increase.

We were going for Poore, Asotasi, Creagh.

I believe we have big dollars left under the cap and would have no problem fitting in a top player without losing anyone

Solo's pretty much a done deal, with Bradford's young England rep forward Brett Ferres heading to Wakefield as part of the bargain. I think you're right in that there's still some paperwork to do before it's fully confirmed.

Haven't heard anything on Fa'aoso for a while. The "we won't release Vella until we have signed someone else" line was a big bluff, Vella had a clause and didn't need releasing, but I understand he offered to stay if the club said so.

IMO cris anderson is right and you need 6 front rowers in a season.
Currently we got Cayless, Cannings, Fui, Cordoba as the 2 starters and benchies if fully fit.
that leads to reserves....tsolous and ?????

IMO this is the only area which scares me bout next yr.....if cayless isnt firing, cannings injured AGAIN, Fui suspended....leaves cordoba and tsolous...2 guys u dont want to rely on come finals!

Thats what i've been saying all along. It's a crock of sh*t that we don't have money left over, and are't the Roosters paying part of Finchs contract seeing that he was released from his contract?.

The only thing i can see happening is that Hagan, Fity are looking to 2008, and then unleashing on avaliable players eg Gallen, O' Meley etc

Have to say I am not to concerned about Faa'aso, would rather we signed Hauraki, Cordoba,Mateo and Paulo to 2 or 3 year deals and see them develop into top class nrl players than sign someone who has had 2 cracks at 2 clubs and has not set the world on fire.
