Any TV Shows worth watching?

The Newsroom has some really, really f**king annoying supporting characters and the dialogue is very forced at times, but it is still an interesting show as it is based around real life news events.

Sorkin's women are horrendous and the romantic sub-plots are terribly hammy.

The pilot to the Newsroom was fantastic, everything else was fairly ordinary.

Yeah, it is the romance plots that make the show cringe worthy at times. They are just terrible, like Olivia Munn's acting.

I'm a huge fan of sorkin ( west wing & sports night in particular)

But the romance plots he's using here are the same as he used in the two previously mentioned shows , infact they are also the same as his other show studio 60.

For such a famed writer it's really poor form.

That and the left wing bias in this show is phenomenal.

Honestly the lead character supposedly being a repubican is just laughable. They seriously spent 10 episodes throwing mud at the republicans without criticising democrats once.

I don't expect some 50/50 split or anything ( sorkin is afterall a rabid lefty) but some semblance of balance would be better.

This is funny. Wasn't this one of the key mission statements of the whole show? A criticism of modern media's obsession with appearing balanced in favour of reporting facts? Balance is overrated

Balance may be too strong a word.

But when 99% of the criticism is of one side of politics the show cant be seen as 'reporting the facts' remember this show is based on real life events.

Surely in those 10 episodes they could have come up with a little more to criticise the democrats on other than calling them 'dissorganised losers' like Will McAvoy did in the first episiode.

Other than that piece the rest was all aimed at the republicans.

I loved the first half of the season, it lost it's way by the end of it... It focussed way too much on relationships, rather than the sharp wit it employed in the first half of the season.

Quite possibly has one of the best pilot episodes I've ever seen in a tv series though. Started out great, now it's just good... Hopefully it finds it's way again.

I consider myself left leaning but The Newsroom is horse $hit. Setting the show in 2010 and then having the audacity to go 'this is how this event should be covered, wow, we were right' is beyond preachy, it's delusional and whiny. It should be called "Hindsight makes us awesomely smarter than you".

Contradicting my overly pompous rant I've just discovered 'Here comes Honey Boo Boo'. It's not intelligent, creative or aiming for syndication into the next century. But whats funnier then watching a family of rednecks who have absolutely no self-awareness to be aware of how utterly cringe-worthy they are.

Anyway.... Im going to watch the new episode of Sons Of Anarchy.....

....ridin' thru this world (ba dom bom)

Just finished the first 4 seasons of SOA and starting Boardwalk empire now. Love them. I need to find someone with Breaking Bad as well as the latest seasons of true blood, dexter, walking dead, game of thrones and SOA.

Camp i work on is full of downloaders so shouldn't be a problem. I'll chuck the In-Betweeners in the pot as well, hilarious

Mate, I'd get the first ep of season 5 of SOA any way u can. I thought this season might be the nose dive but the first episodes set up is a cracker and where it's heading looks awesome.

Agreed, it was a top show but the last two series have gone to shit. I would still bang the crap out of Mary Louise Parker though :)
