The main event was unreal and lived up to some of the good recent title fights, it had everything in it. I was on the edge of my seat thinking the great Ronda Rousey was gonna lose and for her to fight out of the sub attempt and then win by her infamous armbar was just awesome!

Disappointed in Machida vs Henderson though. Love both fighters but it was just shit.

I am more excited for this weekends card. Anything with Wanderlei is good but some great fights on this card. Lombard, Hunt, Sanchez, etc.

At least it went past 1 minute, but disappointed to see it end in another arm bar.

I dont know why this was a dissappointment....Carmouche knew this would have been coming but for Rousey to pull it off still after how much it has been publicised is ridiculous.
Going by Primetime, all of Carmoudhe's training partners were offered $1000 to catch Liz in an armbar and noone was paid....just speaks volumes for Rousey's skills.

Lyoto and Hendo was a terrible fight and was always going to be...Lyoto is a counter puncher why would he want to chase down Hendo, and for some reason hendo doesnt use his wrestling as much as he should.

I can't believe people say Lyoto Machida is boring but GSP is entertaining. Baffling.

Definitely would rather watch Lyoto on the feet than GSP.

On the Rousey fight - that's why women, at this point, shouldn't head UFC cards. To finish all your fights via armbar indicates a complete lack of skill in the opposition. Show us your not a one trick pony and go for ko or something.

Really? Being able to rely on a very handy skill that finishes fights means your a one trick pony...even though it is well know that this is how she finished all her previous fights.

Its like telling Shane Carwin to stop winning by KO and stop being a one trick pony. (If he wins at all)

If her opponent cant figure out a way to not get taken down and defend an armbar then thats her problem. Rousey's job is to win the fight any way she can.

actually mate... that comment indicates that you have no f**king idea about MMA.

just because Rousey has won by armbar in all of her fights... its doesn't mean she's a one trick pony.

she may finish with an armbar... but the set ups are where the beauty is... she can transition to the armbar from so many different positions.

7 wins by armbar shows more skill and technique than 7 wins by KO... but i bet you wouldn't complain about a fighter who knocks out his first 7 opponents.

Lets just all agree that it was a beautiful f*cking armbar. From the setup to the execution top notch.

If that was Frank Mir everyone would be jizzing themselves.

Pffftt.. the typical "you know nothing about mma" retorts. What a sensitive fvckin bunch.

Let me say never did I say that Rousey wasn't a talented fighter.

I'm just not as easily impressed as some of you are. I don't ride every hype wave that comes along or watch every bloody card unless a particular fight or fighter interests me. That applies to boxing as well.

If all 7 fights were won by ko, I probably wouldn't complain as every round starts standing and usually stays that way until the takedown or ko happens. Would I assume that the fighter is proficient on the ground? Or ride hype? Uh, no.

Rousey wanted the fight on the ground from the get go, with the likely aim to set up the arm bar. Is it wrong to say that bores me? Or that women's fight's shouldn't be a main event because I prefer to watch elite level fighters? Geez loosen the f**k up fellas.

Maybe one day I'll share your opinions.....

....when I stop thinking for myself.

elite fighters, women could be very elite at this sport, they just need time and space to show there skills. and in terms of this card, This title fight was better than the Hendo/machida borefest.

They very well can but at this stage, they are not. Let alone spearhead a UFC card.

It was however, the most exciting fight of the night. At the same time I can appreciate Machida's evasiveness as not many fighters possess it besides the Spider.

White: Diaz 'really close' to losing GSP title fight

Feb 25, 2013 4:49 AM EST

Oops he did it again.
Nick Diaz was scheduled to fight GSP for the welterweight championship at UFC 137 when he no showed two pre-event press conferences. UFC president Dana White removed him from the title shot, and the attendant points on the PPV, etc.
Now Diaz has another shot at the title, and he has, despite statements from his attorney to the contrary, missed not two but three "UFC Primetime" interview sessions.
White does not want to scrap the UFC 158 title fight, but he will.
"I hope we don't come to that," said White said at Saturday's post fight media scrum. "I'm close, man. I'm really close. And I don't want to be. You know, it sucks, none of this is easy, these two girls worked their asses off this week, man, and I know what it feels like, it's not fun. It's part of the job."
"He did not (show up) – neither did his brother Nate. And we spent over $50,000 in production costs and guys cruising around Stockton, Calif., and not interviewing people.
"It's not funny. We're very cool and very lenient in a lot of ways. Look at this company. Look how we are. We let a lot of things fly. But that's just absolute bulls---."
"We've treated Nate and Nick with respect. Anytime they come in and want to negotiate their contracts, we do the things, we're good to everybody. At least give us the respect to show up and not blow $50 grand on not showing up for interviews you're supposed to do.
"All the fans are like, 'Shut up, Dana. Let Nick fight.' You shut up, idiots. This is how it works. This is how it work, okay? This is the job, this is what we do. Go to your job and tell your f---- boss ‘yeah I don't want to do this or do that.' That's not how it works. It's part of the job. I've shown the Diaz brothers a ton of respect. They can show some respect back.
"I hope I don't even have to think about that. It's the last thing on earth I want to do."

and thats what makes 7 wins by armbar more impressive.... because the fight starts standing... so she has to use her OLYMPIC level judo to get the fight to the ground.

any heavy handed halfwit has a chance of knocking someone out because the fight starts standing and they have the opportunity to throw haymakers and knock there opposition out.

if the fight started from the guard.. than they would be f**ked.

Rousey is a high, high level Judoka who uses that olympic level Judo to take you down and submit you.

its REALLY impressive...

No idea how Diaz got the fight in the first place. This kind of matchmaking pisses me off to be honest, same with Chael getting the nod over Weidman for no good reason.

It's not riding a hype wave, it's appreciating TOP LEVEL grappling. Maybe that bores you, and that's totally okay, but if it does perhaps MMA isn't the sport you should be watching.

GLORY put on some awesome kickboxing cards you could watch if you want to see some KOs

Weidman is a middleweight not a light heavy weight and is injured anyway.
