I personally think JDS will blitz Hunt out of the ring well within the first round. Its going to be fun hoping that Hunt pulls of another miracle though!

Hunt is pretty renowned for having the best chin in MMA. It's tough to see JDS knocking him out. I could see it happening one of two ways: either JDS goes for takedowns, or it's a standup battle for 3 rounds, like the Roy Nelson fight.

Hunt has been KO'd before though and not against someone with the calibre of JDS.

Im glad he avoided the Nelson fight to be honest. I think Struve reallllyyyyyy struggled managing Hunts weight being ontop of him.

Nelson is the same body type as Hunt and if he gets ontop of Hunt on the ground, it would be all over pretty quick IMO.

Te Huna v Teixeira added to UFC 160. Shaping up as a very big card for Australia/NZ. Te Huna, Hunt and Whittaker all on the same card.

Who are you referring to? I've followed Hunt through his K-1 days too, the only guy I remember fully knocking him out is Manhoef. There's no way JDS has striking on the same level as Manhoef. Schilt beat him up and stopped him but that was with body kicks.

Te Huna vs Texiera is a big step up, but that is a big fight between two violent dudes. If Te Huna can get it done puts him in the title picture too IMO.

WTF??? Melvin Manhoef?? he's on a different planet to JDS when it comes down to striking.

JDS is an elite striker in MMA... but compared to the K1 strikers coming across to MMA he's a one dimensional fighter.

he wont knock Hunt out... im almost certain of that... in fact im pretty sure he wont want to have ANYTHING to do with Hunt standing up and will try and take him down and sub him...

I think JDS knocks out or hands out a severe beat down to anyone who tries to stand with him. I would say that his striking is up there with the best ever in mma, especially considering he basically just relies on boxing.

I'm going with JDS TKO 1. He won't take it to the ground, he won't need to.

Can't see Te Huna lasting the whole fight either. Might get some good shots in and he is one tough dude but he doesn't have an unstoppable chin either.

Considering who he trains with, and Hunt's penchant for giving up a kimura or armbar, dos Santos is crazy to stand with Hunt. Why would he stand with him when that's the only place Hunt is equal (arguably superior, at least in terms of pure pedigree) to him? I don't think Hunt could stop his takedown and from there he is largely helpless from his back.

I could see dos Santos stopping the fight with strikes, especially if it's the 3rd and Hunt is tired and on his back, but there's no way he has the power or technique to knock Hunt unconscious. It's a pretty bold to suggest otherwise IMO.

In terms of stand up, comparing Hunt to Nelson is highly offensive! LOL!

I agree though, if it goes to ground its a wrap. But the fact that JDS likes to strike gives Hunt good chance in this fight. I think a Nelson fight would've been bad for Hunt. Nelson should have learnt from the JDS fight and would probably take it to the ground at first op.

IMO for Hunt to win, it would be off a counter punch. He's an extremely underrated counter puncher. JDS's speed and technique is far superior (probably the best MMA has ever seen), but that can be negated by well timed counter punching and Hunt only needs one.

P.S. Manhoef kills people!

I had no doubt Overeem would be too much for JDS until I saw a shell of his former self step into the ring with Bigfoot. Just not the same fighter off the juice in that joke of a camp.

Im more expecting him to look for the short punches on the inside to setup his big hooks. i think if he looks to counter punch he will get killed. Reach + speed+ footwork + power + stamina all play in JDS' favor. If he can pick his shots he will wear Hunt down pretty quick & unload on any gaps in his defence, which will come quick going on Hunts recent stamina form.

Hunts better off closing the distance, nullifying the speed and power of JDS and fighting on the inside/up against the cage.

Cain showed that JDS isnt good when he has his space taken from him & came close to knocking him out by fighting on the inside/clinch.

gee whizz.... just heard the GSP v Diaz conference call... best conference call EVER.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duTuTUdK0aQ&list=PL9m3-_Hv6qNjDH7hE-l3H-eL7IlL87UAD&index=6

amazing quotes...

GSP to Diaz "Look you uneducated fool..."

i feel a bit guilty though... it kind of feels like the street talk segment on the footyshow... nick should be handles a bit better than this...
Diaz is the man, I'll mark the f**k out if he can get the upset here.

GSP cam across as a bit of a dick in that press conference.

I think GSP beats Diaz 9 out of 10 times.

Hoping that Diaz lands the magic punch or submission though.

Look for GSP to throw a million jabs from the outside then look for the takedown and lay & pray when a frustrated Diaz starts coming forward aggressively.

Diaz will be hoping to trap him in his guard but I think GSP will be working on his takendown straight into side control to minimise the danger.
