Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

The short kickoff is a 50/50 at best at the moment. But with training the percentage of getting posesion goes up. Think of the Tigers , Storm game on Sunday , the last play could have resulted in the Tigers forcing the game to golden point. Now think of us in the same position and we have players with the skill set and training to retain the ball from the kick off. So why not do it Greggos.

I would congratulate him on his teams 11 straight wins. But I would like to train his team to do two things that are critical in golden point games.
1. Get the field goal done early, very early.
2. Train to get the ball back from the kickoff. We must get good at this with specialist players on both side of the field able to compete. The more we do this in week to week play the better we will get.
This will be the difference in the finals series where the teams will be closely matched.
If Flanno adopts these tactics it will say a lot about how he thinks and if he should stay at the Sharks long time.

I can just imagine Lyall Gorman sitting at a press conference and saying "We decided to cut ties with Shane. Despite one of the best seasons in Sharks history the team was going for field goals too late and not utilising short kicks offs enough. We thank him for his service and wish him the best in his future endeavours"

Can't agree with this Carina.

We are much better off playing field position in our first 2 sets instead of going for a miracle field goal that results with the opposition getting 7 tackles from the 20m & getting down to our end & getting a shot from 20m out, right in front.

I loved the way we stay composed in golden point - commentators said it was refreshing to see both sides approach it differently.

We had a gimme penalty which we should've taken.Decided to go forthe 6 tackles, lost the pill.2 points begging and we would not have been involved in a golden shower or penalty field goal shoot out later.
Flanno please tell em,take the points when they are on offer.

This a a political announcement spoken, written and authorised by the couch coach.

We cleary can't win the tight ones nor goldenpoint games with this current strategy going for early field goals and short kickoffs would surely fix this issue

People question if we've peaked too early.
Storm can't keep that up for another 3 months
Dunno, they look bloody solid.
They also have the backing of the NRL so the advantage is with them. ie: we scored 20 odd points against the broncos in the first half, but almost got run down and dogged by whistle happy refs.
Storm did not.

That may be so but we also slackened off. We learnt from that but it's instinct for Melbourne to go on with it.

+, Brisbane were in form when we played them, whereas the storm got them at a low point & dug the boot it.

Was great to see - Mr Quigs will be upset today to see his much loved Donkeys cop a hiding.

And Mr Spear tackle himself Thaiday with nothing to laugh about. Poor old Yvonne Sampson looked like she was in tears over the loss.

Didnt watch that part of the post game, only a couple of interviews.

Would've loved to have seen some Bronco crying.
