Not gone but on thin ice. Information changes and I shot off early after the board meeting last week. Early indications were that he was gone and Lyall wanted him gone but Keogh stepped in and insisted they kiss and make up.

Interesting power play throwing down as we speak.

Lyall is no Flano fan and it's pretty obvious he doesn't fit his style of coach for the "journey" he wants to take the club on. He recognises the boys club and wants to break it but that's no easy task. Plus there is the cost issue.

The board is loyal to Flano, and recognise that they were elected on a platform to bring him back, many of them are his mates and they wont abandon him easily.

But. They had to do a hell of a job to recruit Lyall to the club, they realise he is the best man in the world for the job, they trust his judgement. If Lyall doesn't get the levity to make his own decisions he will most certainly walk, and nobody wants that.

It is quite the bind.
