Nothing wrong with the style of football we are playing but we've given away too many dumb penalties away, failed to execute the final pass with a lot of tries or made some school boy errors.

Ennis has been a gun for us and an astute signing, Jack Bird could be anything.

This annoys me the most. Flanno is the absolute direct influencer on the shit stain that is 2014. He's the muppet that brought Asada on us and put us behind the 8 ball after what was some good recruiting from him. We had a lot of injuries no doubt. But 2014 is Flanno. No club can have their coach suspended for 12 months and put a guy in charge who didn't really want the job. If that shit stain of a coach had half a brain he wouldn't have allowed our players to be injected.

I tend to agree. I doubt there was intent to break the rules but he should have acted when the evidence was there. He wouldn't have been suspended if it wasn't. To be fair to him he was a rookie with little support given the lack of money at the time. However, he wanted to run the whole football department and the supplement program happened on his watch and he should be held accountable.

How much in gate taking are we loosing by not having a successful team? How
Much are we losing buy not having a major sponsor? These type of things come with success.

Assume Flanno is on 400 grand. To pay him out now would cost us a million dollars.

Now before you think cut the losses and move on, the NRL grant compared to the salary cap is still less. So we have to kick in around 600k towards salaries off our own back already.
Then we have staffing pay outs and Lyall's wage, which is not cheap.

Gate takings on an unsuccessful team will happen when your team is losing, but apart from the Souths game, I don't think we would have taken too much of a hit as our corporate hospitality is going great guns.

I see you mention a major sponsor and I am putting the fall back of that straight back on the CEO/Board.

It is on them to get the deal done, I know they are looking for the right person at the right price, but beggers cant be choosers. Since Hisense, who were a cut price deal, we haven't had a locked in major sponsor spanning 2 seasons, and our plain jerserys are now embarrassing.

If you think winning and success brings sponsors, then why did the Titans sign off on a shit load of deals, and why do Parramatta seem to be going ok in the market?

As I have stated, I am all for punting Flanno in the right circumstances, but at the moment, we don't have those.

And if you think we would have success moving him on over botched mid season transfers, well, I reckon Flanno would have a field day on us.

Signing him off on a 3 year deal to me shows that our board will back him until it is not capable of backing him anymore. This year would probably mean finishing above 16th and he will get a tick.

Next year, will unfortunately be his yard stick.

And it would be a very huge improvement to leap from the spoon to the top eight in a dozen games
Achievable of course but a HUGE improvement none the less
I guess it is fair to have such expectations - I would conclude that is an unreasonable expectation despite nearly achieving it with those two dropped games

You do realise how broken the "spoon" argument is?

We had more than half our team out injured for extended periods of time. We had two part time coaches and when some of the players finally came back, they were binned for doping.

At the beginning of the year most experts were predicting a top 8 finish for us. Had things not gone so bad for us off the field, we'd have been fine on it.

Of course we're not going to get the spoon this year. We shouldn't have got it last year.

That said, while we are only one win form the 8, we are also only one win from equal last. It's a great tight table this year. I'd be surprised if we didn't scrape into the 8 thanks to for and against.
