Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

Yeah as Flanno said in the presser, were in the 8, happy days.
Hand me the fugging morphine would you. We might go spoon next year, what would your response be then. Take your opportunity when it presents itself, the good teams do, we never do. That is the difference.

Enough said

We have ordinary halves who cant kick and are short our best prop

We made f**kall tackles compared to our opponents if our forwards were tired then they'll be rooted in a semi.

Luckily they weren't, just hogged it all day.

Leaving Arona on the bench in a physical game just did not make sense.

This! Might as well have had Barba on the bench and have the opportunity to break the game open. But then I guess he would have left him off until the final 10 minutes anyway.

Listened to a bit of the MMM call of the Dogs game, and Andrew Johns mentioned that he couldn't understand how guys like Holmes etc never saw the football. Summed it up beautifully. Today was a return to the dreaded Flanno-Ball of the early part of the season. I have no idea why though.

Because under pressure, some players revert to type. Don't trust the kids, stick the ball up the jumper and try to win it with one out hit ups. Flanno-ball 101

They definitely fell into the 'lets grind out a win'. But then still trying to run the ball up the middle with 5 to go and behind won't win you shit

After sleeping on it I'm guessing that Flanno wanted all the forwards that will be playing in the finals series to have more game time, Arona will be giving his spot back to A-Fi (if fit)
With 4th spot on the line I would have thought all of his "systems" would be put in place by now and playing only 16 players seems strange.
I think one of, or both, A-Fi and Barba won't be seen again this season.

We don't play well off a break. I think Fifita will def come in for aroma. We might see barba for bakuya. If he is fit. Good chance he didn't play because the ankle wasn't quite right.

Also did we play badly or did we play simply?? We have scored a few tries the past month or so. Gotta be a reason for the return to the "grind"

For once I agree with Gus Gould.

Their offence bogged down way in the middle of the field with their forwards dominating far too much of the attacking action.
Even in the last 10 minutes of play when the Sharks needed a try to win, their exciting young back-line players out wide were starved of opportunities to shine.

With four minutes to play and Gallen takes a hit up for tackle five...stoopid is as stoopid does.

Congrats to Manly who showed more guts & heart in one game than our lot have shown all year.

Just get over the Tigers, lucky to win against the Eels & then lose an unloseable game against Manly.
Cannon fodder next week.

What the game showed me as far as the Sharks were concerned, that the forwards are truly "pigs" always wanting their snouts in the trough.
We lost the game through forward greed, the backs left standing like statues.
Gallen appeared to want to win the game on his own.P*ss weak IMO.

One moment when Val Holmes got the pill in a long run,he showed exactly where our class was located.Lewis,Ennis played well,Prior to a lesser degree as well as Graham.Heino and Gallen too much give it to me,mentality. Bakuya less said.

We lost again via an intercept. What's new.

was that when he kicked it dead and gave them 7 tackles?

Lewis,Ennis played well,

I thought ennis had his worst game of the year
bad choices
bad passes
threw an intercept for a try

the only player I thought played well was beal

Concur

Lewis made 22 tackles missed 5

Gallen 25 and missed 4

Very uncharacteristic

Totally agree on Ennis.
As much as I want to agree with some posters on Gallen not being able to play 80 mins, the fact is he still the main weapon in the middle of the field with Taga and Heighno playing minor roles.
Anyway it all just means that we have to win 4 in a row and make sure we are the underdog for everyone of those games.

gal had a terrible game with two errors and getting between the backline on at least two occasions when we actually had numbers

however blaming him for not grounding that bouncing ball is ridiculous and more than made up for by his offload that lead to the try

hopefully we got every last ounce of that trash out of our game from that match

Boys looked like they were trying to not to lose for 80 mins hopefully the loss puts a rocket up em and we go into underdogs for the finals.

Massive chance we missed out on tho, did the same thing on fathers day 2 years ago against the cows at home too.

No, but his game plan has to change in the finals.

To not play Arona at all, but instead have Toops, Heini and Gal, all over 30, slug out big minutes is inexcusable.
The sideways ball came back as well. Bird is terrible for running across field.

Our game plan next week just needs to be K.I.S.S, because after last night, we will struggle to make an impact on the finals.
Thankfully, this is the last year we will see Robson play more than 5 top flight games.

I don't play coy to Flanno mentioning he is the most under rated half back in the comp. He is the worst half back in the comp.
His kicking is attrocious, his running doesn't threaten anyone and his passing game is so slow.
I was having a conversation yesterday with a Manly official, and he said that he believed Robson would struggle to set up a try in the 20's because he is so slow.
I agreed.

I think we have done incredible to get to the finals with out any real halves, but I also think we won't make an impact.

One thing is for sure, getting 2 competent halves next year, we cannot play sideways and structured footy. We need to play direct.

We can still play direct 2 passes off the ruck. Too much bash & barge up the guts & when it did go wide, the players went sideways with the ball.

Ennis was back to his Canterbury niggling ways to put the opposition off their game....but who was put off? I think he'll learn from that. Hope Flanno has a whisper in his ear to reinforce it.
