ANZ Stadium - Never again

I enjoy it. Few beers at Concord West, leisurely stroll through the park, and the view from the front of level 3 or 4 is good enough, and dry.

Someone should tell Larissa that there is a boycott building.
Indeed. I've been suggesting they make the ANZ/Homebush "home games" a separate season ticket/memebership option for years, rather than include them in the price for our Parra Stadium ticketed memberships. But some people on here just tell me I'm crazy and I should put up with it etc.

Shit ground for the spectator in wet weather - especially when undercover Member seats at Parra don't result in under cover seats at Homebush :fist:. And - with every game the club takes there for the cash, we're giving up a potential crowd/atmosphere advantage - which might have been enough to lift us to more than 6 points today, and had the screws on the Tigers for a win?

At pirtek the family tickets I have we sit all
Together. At ANZ we are split up at either end of a row. It's freakn joke. Club tells ME they can't do anything about it.

Its been happening for years ever since we had 2 game a year at ANZ since 2008.

Our seats are in the grand stand at Pirtek on the 30m line where we can enjoy a nice view with a few of my mates but at ANZ we're virtually 25 rows from the front and the two other mates are a row in front and 8 seats across.

It was worse at the start, 2008-12, where they stuck us on the tryline at ANZ and about 15 rows from the front. But after we said we wouldnt renew our season tickets if they moved it to a better seat at ANZ, they evetunally did move us and at least today we barely got rained on unlike the other years.

For some reason away games at ANZ we get much better seats.

Still its a sh*t ground for Rugby League.

Personally, I don't go to games, as I don't live in Sydney, so I couldn't give a toss where we played.

But, as a Club trying to rebuild and win games, we're throwing away potential Top 8 finishes for monetary gain...

We're not in a position on the football field where we can afford to play Home Games away from Pirtek.

Anyone know when our current deal with ANZ runs out?

Does it matter? Are you expecting us to no longer play 2 games a year there?

We've played our cards I doubt the NRL will be keen for us to go back to big drawing matches to Parra.

Having said that, we should be playing 'hard ball' with the NRL and showing that we have the intention of moving away from ANZ. If we're playing at ANZ for less than $3 million a game we're getting ripped off.

Remember, we missed out on the finals last year............those 4 points from the Homesbush games would have got us there. That point was widely ignored after all the post season reviews.

Agree with the original poster - I am sick of making the trip and most of the season ticket holders around me didn't bother either. When our players don't even seem to care, why do we all make the effort?

For you people who drove, it wasn't much better on public transport. Took an hour to get there on the bus thanks to all the traffic around Homebush Bay Drive and the buses were full before most of the stops were reached. Even if they put a roof on the stadium, it is still going to be terrible - the fact you end up watching the big screen most of the time says it all

Caught the free bus from Castle Hill. Got a seat. Got wet at the game even though I have covered seats at Parra. Got the bus home with a seat. Bus trip was approx half hour because I got on at the first stop. No way would I drive

Yeah, they're just in it for the pay cheque

These boys live and breath for the win. The NRL isn't some hit and giggle IPL where you just go to earn enough to buy a new beach house, its the worlds best Ruby League competition, and the boys are competitive. They care.

As for the trip out there yesterday, anyone that thought that it was going to be easy given the long weekend/Easter show is kidding themselves. Definitely a pain in the arse, but I like seeing big crowds at footy games, so I say we keep the WT an Easter Show tradition. Lots of casual Eels fans I know make that their one game to go to per year after a morning at the Show.

Just on ANZ and the Easter Show, why the NRL didn't schedule games out there Friday/Saturday/Sunday & Monday to make the most of the Show crowds is beyond me. I recon the ground would have kept up ok.

$30 seats, ended up behind the dead ball line. View to the other end of the field is pretty much useless so end up watching the "big screen". Then, the screen goes blank and the word "LOUDER" appears. Very frustrating. Parras rubbish performance didnt help either.
Caught the train from Leppington. Took ages. Such a long, uncomfortable and unproductive day.
Oh. 2 cartons of chips and 3 soft drinks, $28.
Yep ill go again.
NOT.

Didn't we win one of our ANZ Home games against the Dogs during the Origin period?

It's a short term gain. 100k guaranteed plus I'm assuming the extra takings for anything above the 20k we get at Pirtek.

If you want to build membership though, you need to keep these big games at Pirtek. The NRL doesn't want fans to be locked out, but you need to create a club mentality. You want to create a perceived demand.
It should be all about membership. Season tickets is the way forward. Lock people out if you have to so that people will want to pay for membership so they don't miss out next year.

If Parra make finals appearances, you increase brand awareness. Taking games to ANZ doesn't help that.

You can't demand a bigger stadium unless you build up membership. If you get membership up near the 20k mark, then you can start demanding a bigger stadium.

Parra has got more than 20k in membership already.

I'm f**kin ropable that I get a pet membership, yet not allowed to take my pig dog to the game.
