Um no...

But of course you probably think that the SCG are lying about that...

But hey, if you do want to talk about all the empty seats at Swans games this year then -

Just approximately -

Round 2 - 11,000 empty seats
Round 4 - 12,000 empty seats
Round 6 - 9,000 empty seats
Round 8 - 12,000 empty seats
Round 10 - 19,000 empty seats
Round 13 - 6,000 empty seats
Round 15 - 13,000 empty seats
Round 17 - 6,000 empty seats

On average about 11,000 empty seats per game.

They haven't even come close to the reduced capacity.

But of course you wouldn't know because you don't go to games.

Sigh. I get headaches when I argue with clearly intellectually inferior people because it's so bloody exhausting.

It's not just about there being empty seats at games. The demolished stands make up 50% of the best seats in the house for AFL football.

I'll try to break it down. The dogs play at ANZ. The best seats in ANZ are the lower bowl on either sideline. If one side of the lower bowl was taken out I guarantee Dogs crowds would decrease even though there'd still be available capacity in other parts of the stadium.

That's what is happening at the SCG.

My point will be proven when the Collingwood game at ANZ next week gets 50% more than the corresponding fixture last season.

I don't mind ANZ. It's not he best nor the worst. It,s not an ideal stadium for our game. But the facility is pretty good overall. The two best grounds I have been to are kings park in Durban and newlands in cape town from a viewing perspective . Even high up you feel like you could jump onto the pitch.i have not been to suncorp but I would imagine thats a great place to watch league as well.

Sigh. I get headaches

You most likely have a malignant brain tumour.

However it's no excuse as to why you lie like this -

BunniesMan said:
they are playing in a 25k capacity stadium
And continue to profess intellectual superiority when all the evidence is to the contrary -

@ourSCG said:
Capacity of the SCG is currently 33,000

Do you care to retract your bullshit statement or would you like to keep lying?

Suncorp is great, atmosphere a bit flat for my liking but very good stadium overall. Always wanted to go to Newlands or Pretoria for some reason, south african rugby intrigues me even though i don't really like union that much

I prefer league as a game. There rugby stadiums are perfect for either game.i just can't understand why when they built the SFS in the 80's why they just did not look at kings park as the model for a perfect stadium. Probably the nanny state mentality prevailed.

FFS.

30k tickets sold > 20k tickets sold.

The few thousand less viewers you get by building up crowds like that takes NOTHING away from tv money but does add money from a different source.

2+1=3
2+2=4

2+2 is better than 2+1

Rugby league as a whole and the clubs individually are hardly rolling in it enough to be able to tell anybody they don't need them at the game.

BM no one is arguing that a bigger crowd is not better than a smaller crowd that is why I absolutely agree with origin and grand finals being played at ANZ. However, that does not make ANZ a better viewing experience. Packed SFS > packed ANZ in terms of atmosphere.

It's my team's home ground. Am I not entitled to like it?

Couldn't agree more on public transport in the sense that if every Swans game there gets the treatment, the NRL should work something out too. Get direct services from Central involved.

As for driving, I haven't had any trouble in a few years - advice, enter from the Silverwater side. If you're coming from the city it would be arguably quicker to take the M2 or Vic Rd out toward Carlingford and drop down through Marsden.

If it's WT turf, why the f**k aren't your club playing there?

um..... The same thing could be said about Souths and BMs OP

so Canterburys area is now in the Auburn Local Government area

The redeveloped Old Trafford is the best atmposphere stadium I have been in. The roof somehow seems to keep all the noise in the stadium and applifies it and the seating is very steep. Cracking ground.

It's only flat at Broncos games. Broncos fans are a bit quiet and still, generally. Go for an Origin or the A-league final the other year and it's pulsating. Obviously GF's/Origins provide atmosphere but you get my point - it's not the fault of the ground.

I will never buy into, or participate in the Ridiculing of South Sydney and Their Fans.........but BMs OP, is certainly out there in the stratosphere somewhere

Suncorp is a great stadium on all fronts:

Good viewing
Perfect size for well supported club
Good distribution of food outlets and toilets (unusually for the upper tiers especially)
Lots of bars and restaurants nearby for pre and post fun
Easy to get to location from centre of city

It ticks more boxes than any stadium in Oz imo.

The only downside to Suncorp is their bulk pouring of XXXX Gold. It's barely drinkable cold, after sitting out for.5-10 minutes it's positively putrid.

Fortunately a few beers pre and post at the Caxton street bars negates the need to drink pi** at the ground!

Haven't been to any australian stadium that serves decent quality full strength beer.

Its rarely going to be good quality when drinking out of a plastic cup.

Canberra Stadium has Boags Draught on tap when i went there for a Brumbies game once, but never noticed whether they still did when I went there for the Tigers game this year because they had Carlton Draught in cans, and at the footy that's good enough for me!
