I?d be looking to
? Bring Cummins to fullback ASAP
? Get Horse back on the field
? Nightingale back to the wing
? Play Vidot off the bench in the back row
? Give Drinkwater some game time

This. Vidot as a back rower would be interesting (he's a strong runner but how we he go defending 4 in?) but it could work, but who drops off the bench?

I do believe playing Vidot in the second row will add much needed size and power so long as he can defend.

At the moment I'd be looking seriously at Harrison who has been less than impressive IMO
Vidot in short bursts with a mission may be worthwhile but who knows

Yesterday was no big deal.

It's best to get those losses out of our system nice and early in the season.

It's also a "re-build" year, so to speak. Shit like this was always going to happen.

It's good youngsters such as Stockwell and de Belin are getting game time. That's what we need. And we build upon those youngsters game time to turn us into Premiership contenders once again.

I was happy to see Matthews out there. He finished 2012 well and is a good player.

Price re-signing was great news, it'll keep dumbf**ks like Tim Sheens and Brad Arthurs well away from our club.

Pricey's Grandfather was a Rat of Tobruk, what a f**king Legend. Wear those medals with pride son!!!

Great thread. I'm a Chooks fan and thought I'd pop over for the first time to see your reactions to yesterday. Obviously I am pretty excited as to the direction we are taking and the culture our young coach has instilled. Many of my mate's are Dragons fans and I don't understand all the grief over losing Soward. The kid refuses to take the line on and when tackled borrows head first into the ground. Great kicking game, great in open field running, but u can't have a5/8 who won't take the line on.
I am so glad u stuck with yur young coach. At least u won't get stuck with Smith or Sheena. And u have one of the best forwards in Merrin.
Anyway, I just popped over to say how good is it that our clubs get to be part of this great day. There are a heck of a lot of others that are as jealous as hell. Dogs, manly, etc that would like to be in our shoes

Well John a sincere thank you for sharing your views with us, seeing it was your first post ever on LU forums.

Your comment about us sticking with our young coach really bought a tear or two to me old eyes.

Our best wishes to your mob for the rest of the year. They are going to have a big year.

Good one fire, you had me going for a second. Ah, but then I realised, you meant it was a great news story, for masochistic fans. :D

Hahaha O_T as Saints fans we are suckers for punishment!

Keep the faith but mate. There are good arguments out there on why we should not have re-signed Price, and they are hard to argue against.

However, I'm just keeping the faith. He is starting to get his own squad, and a one year contract was very pragmatic from Doust and Co.

Personally I think it was the best outcome from a bad situation.

Broke me heart but O_T seeing us lose like that on ANZAC Day :(

But there is always next week :D

Interesting thing faith, you know Fire. It can still fly, in light of cognisant alternative scientific explanations to the contrary. Hmmm bit like the resigning Price methinks.

Still, who am I to pour scorn on a personal expression of faith, particularly given it's role in gleaning such a rosy future to believers such as your good self.

Yes us poor skeptics carry the weight of expectations on our own shoulders, in the here and now. I envy you Fire.

Couldn't believe that when I read it, he would have fought along side my Grandfather

A rebuilding year? More like a patch up and dismantling year.

Why do people keep persisting with Vidot to play in the backrow? It's the one area that we are not weak in not to mention we have a ton of depth there;

-Matthews
-Prior
-Harrison
-Merrin
-Ah Mau
-Vea
-Creagh
-De Bellin
-Frizell

Vidot's position is wing or centre and seeing we lack speed I for one would put him in the centres and in the meantime just leave him on the wing until we can find a permanent fullback.

I rated Harrison highly, but I agree his performances have been woeful... Park footballer at best. He's not having a crack... He's just not. We have a few players to be honest that just aren't digging in enough. All starts from the top.

Also, and people won't like this but ben creagh has been bitterly disappointing.

That list may be quantity mate but we need quality. Only a few gems on that list.
