Anzac Test Predictions

Have the Kiwis or Warriors ever won at Eden Park?

Since the debacle in 1988 (WC Final - much hyped Kiwi team down 24-0 at Half-Time) I think the venue might be hexing us. It's a rugby and cricket ground. The thought of league and soccer there seems wrong. All the history in those latter codes is at Mt Smart (& the defunct Carlaw).

Honestly, I'm going into this test match just hoping none of our Warrior boys get injured. My view is test match footy against Australia meant much more when we didn't have a team in the ARL/NRL.

I'll still watch it though, there's stuff all else to do on a Friday night in Katoomba, NSW. The locals in the bar are mostly decent too, they always give NZ its due.

I hope a few Jaffa's turn up. I was thinking of going up, but have to coach in Wellington so can't get away.

Ticket sales are crap I hear. NZRL needs a good crowd to make money to fund league development in NZ. Loose money and its a disaster!

They've won at North Harbour somewhere in the mid 2000s, I don't think that was an ANZAC test though.

The Kiwis are getting closer, we stand a good chance. At home and near full strength (only Sika and Matai missing)

The Anzac test always has outstanding TV ratings but s^%t crowds, 15,000 people in a 50,000 staduim will look ridiculous!

I'm not sure about this 'getting closer' thing...we are just so hot and cold a lot of the time. Until the kiwis turn up every single time, the 1 in 10 odd win ratio won't change IMO.
At home, long overdue for an ANZAC win, it wouldn't surprise me this time. All too often we beat ourselves- unforced errors & dropsies, penalties etc.
If we're paying $4+ I'll put a lazy ten on though

^ Nope, twas a one-off test in October 2003 before the Kangaroos buggered off to England for a tour. It's the test Villasanti played in. Bloody good afternoon too :D
