Are the dragons the worst team ever to make the finals?

Broncs fans are spoiled. There are like 9 internationals in that side.

Raiders 2008 that played the Sharks was pretty poor compared to that:
Milne, Purts, Monas, Best, Chalk, Campo, Buttriss (yes as halfback), Logan, Hinchcliffe, Tilse, Plum, Picker, Tongue
Bench: Kelly, Miller, Costigan, Thurling

Got carved up by Pomeroy.

You're not wrong, terrible side on paper.

It just highlights the form of players like Campo, Buttriss and Tongue at that time.

They did a really good job of sparking plays in the middle, giving the likes of Milne, Monas and even Best space to weave their magic.

I didn't realise it at the time, but 2008 really wasn't the best season for quality football.

8-3 to start the season then 4-9 to finish it, who says early season form isn't important, they did luck out though with 8 teams losing more games then they won, some years they would have come 11th with 12-12

Last year they would have come 10th on for and against

The difference is lambretta - dogs teams thrive in finals. I'd put our finals record in the 90s through to today up against any other team and I don't think we would be far off the pace.

We are built to compete and be f**king mongrels. In that team you had tough pricks like True Grit Britt and Hetherington. Not a soft c**k in sight

Dogs of war if you will.

It helped playing the ultimate chokers in a qualifying final......

But yes, point taken

That's really interesting. I mean, completely irrelevant and fairly pointless, but really interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I'm pretty sure Souths are worse than the Dragons.
Based on what we dished up last night to what Souths have today, they have us covered.

Rabbletohs over the past month especially after being the team that had forgotten how lose in ( after 9's, WCC & early in comp )

After their narrow defeat to the British controlled and Arab supported Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, it is obvious that the answer is no.

St George Illawarra is a good middling team, that will however be hurt badly if Josh Dugan makes his way to the NFL, in the wake of Jarryd Hayne's impending smashing success.

Some good signings next year for us and another off season for some of our kids, we will be better again in 2016.

The dragons are better than both of the, sides that played today

Nah.

Sharks were pretty damn good today, at 28-0 they sorta just clocked off and let in 2 soft tries.

I reckon they would have troubled most teams with that performance

Surprised you left off the 2002 Dragons. Won 9 of 24 games with a +86 differential. Finish equal on points with Canberra (3 draws to 1).
