Are Tickets and Factions killing the thing we love most?

On the back of Sid Kelly walking out on the board I wanna ask will everyone ever be on the same page at our club? Will we ever get any unity in this place?

I dream of supporting a club without following political faction, I dream of a successful front office and most of all I dream of a competative footy team, but it appears that we have people in powerful positions at the club who are willing to love the club to death... Literally!!

I fear that if this infighting doesn't stop than the club as we know it may die and die a painful death,

So the question I wanna ask is would you support a constitutional change that will outlaw tickets or factions at the club? I'm now at this stage where we need a radical change like this so that we, as a club can move forward...

On Saturday, we are celebrating a return to the 80's day,us members should march in unison to the ground chanting pat banaters 'love is a battle field' South Park style .... As comical as it sounds that's what we've become.

Stagger its great when Sid resigns he gets media coverage. Did he go straight to journos? why if really wanted the club to go forward not just resign without the fuss. What happened when Sassen resigned at the AGM? designed to get someone who finished 10th out of 15 people on the Board. That guy has now got 2 others to fall over for him. What about when Guru snr resigned? media? why is our Board such a media attraction?

Privatisation.

That's what the 3P agenda was always about you f**king idiots and still is. I know things going on in the background that hardly any of you know about. Let me tell you.... that there are now very good people (hearts) with the best interests of the club, members, players, staff, fans, etc, in place now. They have to get rid of everything that scandalous 3P (Freemasonic driven) mob were implementing.

Where the f**k was Sid Kelly's letter to the chairman when all the 3P dirty laundry was being aired behind closed doors over Daniel Anderson??????

that's exactly right.
He got voted in on the back of "it was time for change".
Fair enough too.
He then got voted back out just as smartly because people thought he was doing a shit job.
He can't handle that. It would be hurting so much.
He'll do everything he can to get back on the board.
He's no different to what fitzgerald was.
Power is a drug.

If 20+ individuals all stood for the board independently with some of them having serious commercial acumen and experience then 7 would get voted in and we would have a non factional board.

well said. now get those 20+ at the next election!

well said Suity! Fitzy & Spags were both on the nose and the members voted them out! end of story.... well it should have been until all the 3P guys kept dropping like flies to engineer a Spags comeback

In case you havent realised the Parramatta Club is one big media attraction and one of the major reasons the biggest selling newspaper in the country sells its papers. Any Club whose change of venue for a recovery session becomes backpage news is amazing. If Parra was the Club in ASADA's sites it would be front page news every single day.

These pricks could care less about us or the club! I have seen members of the last 3 boards laughing and joking around in tough times. I can assure you at games I am not laughing and joking about anything.......I'm shattered, even when I prepare myself, I'm shattered for quite some time after the game.

I want to see them hurting, I don't want to see them in the grandstand talking to Daniel Anderson and joking around (like I did at the Penrith game). If they are taking to DA, I want them to be tearing strips off him for butt raping us all year, ok they may be unprofessional but I think you get what I mean.

I have no interest in talking and mixing with players, their job is to play footy, imo this is how the board should be. I see too much of them, shouldn't they be faceless men?

It is not meant to be a prestige thing, is it?

So you don't want to see anyone laughing..... even with DA a bloke who got us to the GF in 2009 and by rd 6 the following year was deadman walking. I suppose you don't want to see them talking to Brian Smith, JT or Michael Hagan - all those guys got us competitive and into the playoffs!

I think you can add EGJ there as well.

Funny story, when I first meet him, the guy that introduced me to Spags, told me afterwards to count my fingers every time I shook his hand.

yeah EGJ told me the same thing too. Told players at the club that Spags was the money man.... Now he's spags and 3P spokesman on twitter. go figure

Well ironically, the now former director who inspired me to start this thread is one of the least egotistical gentleman you'll ever meet.

that's what you think .... what about others who've come across him....

I think all the directors, current and past, have got some sort of ego. that's why they wanted to be on the Board....even those who say the noble thing " I just want to help the club move forward"

BennyBoy, quite often Maroubra Eel comments are riddled with sarcasm or tongue in cheek. It is sometimes often hard to work out which are serious comments from Maroubra
Really, I never would have guessed from the indepth convo I was having with him ;-)
