I had no idea it took 8 months or so to recover from a hernia operation. I thought it was a 2-3 month recovery before you go back to the full workload you once did.

Although we are currently short one quality back (hopefully we sign Boyd) I am quite happy with the recruitment for next season.

We have signed tough players with a bit of mongrel. Whilst the Dragons pack has always been talented it has always been a little soft. Hopefully these signings rectify that.

It is no secret Melbourne are the pinnacle in the NRL at the moment and Bennett has put a team together that looks capable of beating them. I expect them to win this year quite easily and be the clear pick in 09 as well.

There is no point putting together a Manlyesque side that can put away the struggles with ease but has nothing to give when the pressures games are on.

Madunit.
The article said “for the club for at least two years” meaning that he can’t play again for Canberra until his contract with the Dragons is finished if at all .
Wobbygong
Benny Creagh is 193 cm and will be 105kg plus next year probably 106 kg by 2010 etc
Wiki was a centre and now one of the best props going round. Ben Creagh will be a prop and one of the best. Maybe not for year or two but he’s a natural.

The signings have been better than most other seasons that is for sure. Bennett was a major coup for them as well as the re-signing of Coops for a further 3 years.

The Dragons need a half imo. Hornby and Soward are doing a good job atm but they need a more creative half. Head will be ok but risky as he is injury prone. If he gets through the season uninjured he will be awesome but can't see that happening.

I have a feeling Benny will go for Shaun Berrigan over in England. He is in his late 20's from memory and can fill in at hooker, half or centre.

From hull fc website.

SHAUN Berrigan is without question a star and he is one of Hull’s biggest overseas signings in their history, following in the footsteps of fellow Australian Test aces Peter Sterling and Jason Smith. He has committed himself to the club for four years until 2011, which indicates his determination to make his stay here a successful one. At 29, he has a lot of football in front of him and his decision to come to Hull and play in the Super League has probably ended his international career. That was something he was prepared to do because having achieved everything he could in Australia he is now desperate for success in the Super League. He made his Broncos debut in 1999, round 11 against Balmain Tigers and was regarded as a centre. In fact, in 2004 he won Broncos best back award and the following year he was their top try scorer. Berrigan made his 150th appearance in 2006 and, although starting at centre that season he switched to hooker when full timers Michael Ennis and his younger brother Barry were injured. This proved an enormous success and former Aussie great Peter Sterling said he brought a new dimension to the Broncos game. As a hooker in the Broncos’ Grand Final win he won the Clive Churchill medal and has represented the Kangaroos in that position

Imo B. Morris is a safe and steady option at fullback, defensively and positionally very good but not a major threat in attack. In offence i think Brett goes missing, where as you can see with other teams fullbacks, they're always lurking around the ruck. The only time i can remember Brett lurking around in attack was when he followed his brother and scored two tries. He should be doing way more of that lurking! I still believe Brett played his best football in 2005 on the wing. I was also stating what i thought Bennett would follow through with not my own individual thoughts.

For all the people bagging Stanley, he has hardly had a chance to impress because he continually plays out of position. He is a centre and if you go back to the Knights game earlier this year, i thought Stanley was impressive there....funnily enough at centre, not on the wing or comming on as second rower.

Um, there goes my Berrigan theory. Thanks Johnsy.

Brett Morris will be good where ever you put him. He is awesome and I hope he does not leave us.

With Benny I feel we will get more people staying rather than going. We have more chance of Josh returning to the Dragons rather than Brett going the other way.

Not many players leave the Bronco's when Benny was coach. This year is different because Benny is leaving the Bronco's.

Jeremy is a backrower. Ryles is the heart of our forward pack and we let him go. Not so sure about the Weyman signing to be honest as he isnt even getting a start in Canberra

I know he generally plays lock/second row and even occasionally in the centres, but I reckon he'll be taking a few more hitups next season than you'll see from the likes of Webby or Scott and if you check what the Sydney Morning Herald was saying when we were first being linked to him (last year? Sorry that I'm not bothering to back that up with a source), our plans for him were closer to the ruck than Melbourne's.

I think it will be Boyd, I think he is a lot more than just a finisher/ winger.
