Not sure how anyone wins. There is a chance Manly v Melbourne will be game of the round, but not everyone wants to watch the best game, they want to watch their favourite teams and share things around. That's fair enough. Roosters, Tigers, Broncs, and Cows are all more popular with neutral fans I'm guessing. So the Storm game is passed on to pay TV saturday night, and the prime time slot goes to the tigers with 10 players out (partly due to the fixed draw). I don't think anybody really won with that game being shown live, except that it satisfies the clubs who were allocated the game (and their sponsors).
So Brisbane footy fans and Broncos fans get the same team for the 9th week in a row, upsetting not only interstate fans but some locals too. NSW viewers get a "weak" game between a couple of popular sides followed by 2 teams which they are either mildly interested in or bored to death with. And the reasons we got these two games is because they reckon it is what will satisfy the most fans. Instead it satisfies very few it seems.
Some of the games allocated to FTA this year have been garbage, and they only got on there to satisfy fans and clubs. But once the games that were allocated in January start looking like crap in May/June/July, the fans and clubs are unsatisfied.
Too many Broncos games is only part of scheduling issue.
