im a kiwi, and a huge kiwi RL fan.
but if he doesnt wanna play for us then thats ok.
as long as he comes out and says it, and doesnt pussyfoot around. id hate for a situation to arise when he doesnt get picked for aussie or qld so he decides to play for the kiwi's then.
as long as hes straight up about what he wants then thats fine with most people.
hes made his bed, let him sleep in it IMO.

on brent webb playing for the kiwi's.
thats a load of shit. i would rather put a young kid straight out of the junior kiwi's in our kiwi number 1 shirt rather than have an aussie thats lived here for 3 years getting to do the haka.
id like to see the NZRL raid the NZRFU rank's. theres sooo much talented backs around NZ rugby, we could get atleast 5 fullbacks of NRL standard.
the situation there is similar to the SOO one. but instead of flocking to the Blues or Maroons jumper they flock to the All Blacks one.

not to mention we SHOULD be combing through the bartercard cup for talent before we go anywhere near brent webb.

This eligibility nonsense is one of the reasons why international RL is in a pretty shitty condition atm. You can only be from one country; it is that simple. This playing Origin for NSW or QLD and then playing for New Zealand stuff is a sick joke. Last time I checked a map, NSW and QLD were both located within the Commonwealth of Australia, not New Zealand or any other country. Hence, if you are a Queenslander or a New South Welshman, you are also an Australian and should only be eligible to play for Australia.

Karmichael Hunt said his main goal was to play state of origin, but do Queensland really need him any way with the likes of Wesser, Slater, Schifcoske, Bowen, Webb, O'Davis and Lockyer. Fullback is probably the position that Queensland have the most depth for which is all the more reason why they should say we dont need you so go and play for NZ. Australia dont need him either. Its not as if Aus will lose a test because Karmichael Hunt isnt there.

I don't think Hunt will get near a QLD fullback spot anyway. As girvie said Wesser, Slater, Schif, Bowen, and even Lockyer should get it before him. Although he is only a rookie at this stage.
