Way too early, but how many players on our team are genuinely a chance for origin?

in my mind
Ponga will be 1 or 14 if fit
Best only has a shot if Latrell is injured
Sharpe would be a Smokey for a wing or bench spot
Lucas , but hasn’t started the year in the best form
Jsaf for a bench spot if current form continues

am I forgetting anyone?

Ponga won't be QLD #1 unless Walsh is unavailable. Especially with the injury concerns.
Definitely. Wouldn't shock me to see them cram him on the bench though. I don't think it's the right thing for them to do, nor do I want them to do it from our perspective... but it wouldn't surprise me.

Change to origin eligibility has definitely worked against JSaf. Wouldn’t be surprised if we have no players outside of Ponga later in the series.

Yep, not necessarily a bad thing. I personally think with how fast the ruck has become someone like Lucas is so valuable

Are we one of the good teams now? Too early? For the past 5-6 years we were definitely one of the bad teams with the Tigers and Titans etc. Are we good now? Or premature?

We’re 4 games in, it’s too early to tell. I wouldn’t say for the past 5 years we’ve been Tigers/Titans bad either other than 2025. We were in the finals 4/5 years. I’d say more average/mediocre. There’s no guarantee we’ll finish higher than we have in recent years. I’d say we’ll finish higher than 2025 finish though.

I think the main point of difference between JH and AOB isn't going to be how many wins start their tenure, it's how the team plays under their leadership. The Knights under AOB never looked like a team unit (bar the 10-game run in 2023), often looking like they just met in the carpark out front on the way into the stadium. Whereas under JH, the team almost immediately seemed to be playing like a unit that has been training together.

And that, to me, is a main difference.

Consider Holbrook appreciated. I'm sure there'll be some typical Knight shit shows, but for now, I enjoy what I see. I couldn't say that too often under AOB, even during the wins.

Hard to explain but I just like how the team is looking, we're supporting and moving the ball. I wil lstand by our D lookjing better under AOB though.

Penrith look scary. Hope we can keep it close in a couple of weeks time. Jenkins playing like Inglis and even Cogger nearly got a try. Scary stuff.

I actually had a dream last night that we beat Penrith even it out Ponga and Brown playing.
It was nice.

Don’t want to get ahead of myself but watching the Dragons I think there’s a chance we could avoid the spoon this year.

Einstein suggested every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Penrith are the action and the Dragons are the direct and equal opposite.

They were so bad. Titans not much better. Kind of like us last year. Do a lot of the hard work, defend pretty well and making opportunities, but can’t score points to keep you in the game.
