Sorry man, have to disagree with you there. Australia has plenty of good comedians. For every Seinfeld and Eddie Murphy there are thousands of hack American comedians getting around. Compared to the USA it is actually easier to get a start in the comedy industry...it's just harder to go places.

The bad part about the australian comedy scene is that it is super hard to make a living unless you are sucking Rove's dick. We just don't have the money or the entertainment industry to make it possible for a Seinfeld or Murphy to pop up. The scene in Australia is dominated by the networks who'd rather show 3 episodes of Two and a Half Men than invest in Australian entertainment.

If you think the Aussie comedy scene sucks, get out sometime and see some actual comedy. That's where the funny people are. Not on TV. On the sticky beer stained stages. In the clubs and pubs.
