For those like myself who thought Ash Graham under achieved in 2004 after a fantastic debut season in 2003 don't give up on him.

As we all know Ash had a shocking ankle injury late 2003 and seemed to lose quite of lot of speed and agility this year.

Ash has come to the conclusion that he is unable to offer the same with his ankle pinned and has opted to remove the pin which held the joint together this year.

With successful rehab through the off season I am sure we will see Ash come back in 05 and make every post a winner and I for one am really looking forward to seeing him play his best footy for the Eels next year!!

that is fantastic news!

there were rumours this year that he was also suffering from stress fractures on his foot so it hasn't been a great recovery process for him. but I can't wait to see what he can do for us next year.

Sorry guys but he will have to improve 2000000000000000% to be a good 1st grader and I can't see that happening.

Thats your view on it Jake. Before the injury I would have easily put him at fullback or in the centres ahead of Vaealiki and pre-2004 form - Tonga. If he can regain fiotness he will more than figure in the 2005 campaign.

I agree with Jake. He does nothing for me as a first garde player.

I think in 2003 when he was at back he was magic. It could either go 3 ways after the removal of his pinned ankle.
1 Come back and recapture his speed, agility and form of 2003.
2 Come back in 2005 as bad as he was in 2004
3 Break his leg again.

IF we have no injuries. If he wasnt dropped after his preformances this year will he ever be dropped. I think out Wing Pairing will be Peterson and Grothe. Graham can also slot in the centres but i doubt thered be room.

Last year he was very good at fullback - I rated him pretty higly and was confident that he'd be our starting center as soon as he came back from injury (taking Lyon's place) - but how wrong I was!

His performances this year have been miserable - and NOT just because of a lack of pace! It's his hands which are the biggest worry... he just drops the ball cold time and time again - and he catches the ball waaaay up above his head like an AFL player or something.... maybe his lack of pace/agility got his confidence down - but unless something major happens this off-season I can't see the guy squeezing into the strongest 17!!

I wish him all the best with the recovery and HOPE he can find some form again... but I won't get my hopes too high...

I've said it once and i'll say it again, Graham is a brillant ball player who should be either in the centres or 5/8, his ball skills & passing game are impecible and he has great vision.

He is a great talent, people are very critical, his injury he sustained against the Broncos was one of the worst i'd seen ( seen a few aswell), it was a miracle he even made a return this year.

I havent seen anything brilliant from Graham, but he's only 20 and there's plenty of years to come for him to impress. 2002 in first season he was good, 2003 he was better before crippled by injury. 2004, well you name it, very ordinary. But if he doesnt pick it up in 2005, whats the point.
