Anyone played the actual game? I'd love a good cricket game. (I did love Warney's in 99 but it was only good in two player mode - much like most cricket games)

I got it today...... it seems like a good game. Only really done the training and played two quick one dayers, and I enjoy it..... Its a shame that only England and Australia have the real names, but there is an editor to fix up the other teams.

I got the game for 79, which I think it is worth that.

Thanks for the useful post DB, I won't be buying it. Whilst I appreciate the edit feature, who can be bothered?

I have enough on my plate with NCAA 10 and Madden 10.

How I long for the Cricket game where you can play all forms of the game including State and County sides again - WITH ALL NAMED ROSTERS!

honestly the games is decent. The amount of control you have over yours shots is great. Being able to defensively push the ball around the field for quick singles and actually having to select the correct shot to play is great.

I saw someone say that they saw footage of someone playing a pull shot off the back foot to a very very very full length delivery, thats crap. if your even a split second out of time and have choosen the wrong foot to play off, then your basically stuffed and wont even make contact.

bowling isn't to bad, actually have to get a good 60+ overs bowling in and then you'll eb able to reverse the ball, spinning options are great, wrong un from symmo turns a freaking mile.

Overall good game, sh*t with the other teams not being licenced but the names are almost the same as originals shavin tehndukkar is still a tough prick to get out.

I like the catching in the game, as you have to press X (on ps3) at a certain time to catch the ball. What is starting to tick me off is when you are batting the opponents are yet to drop a catch or miss a run out.

My biggest gribe with cricket games has always been that the computer have no concept of judging runs - they'll play a shot which is worth 2 or 3 but only ever take 1, and the result was that it became so easy to win any limited over matches. Is that an issue? And just like that, is the game challenging to win?

The AI seems fine.... mind you I have only played on easy, and thats what it is so far...... I find the opposition tend to want to run more, start to run, then the say no and go back to their crease.

I'm always interested in a well made sports game, irrespective of the sport, what makes this MLB game so good?

IMO only, The Bigs 2 has found the balance between BS & realism. The controls can be picked up & learnt in 5 or 10 mins but also have the abilitty to screw you over as a seasoned player. Also between the "Become A Legend" & standard season play there is plenty of time wasting here. Online is good as long as you don't get a whinger & two player is awesome. There's a few mini-games thrown in & a "pinball" type game. Definitely worth a try if your looking for something to buy.

The Bigs 2 online lags a fair bit (apparently has something to do with it using the 2k server rather than microsoft).

I was down 5-2 going into the last inning having suffered from a lot of lag during the pitches I faced, pulled off a 'super slam' and as my last guy made contact with the game winning grand slam the other player quit.

got Ashes game yesterday played it a bit last night, had to use the keyboard as the game controller didn't seem to work i selected it in the controller options but it does work so just used keyboard which was not to bad once i worked the keys out.
seems to be a lot to do when bowling and bowled a lot on no balls first up trying to get the ball marker where i wanted it and bowl at the same time, with batting it was good once i worked out you could pick you spot to aim your shot. played 2 T20's and a ODI and managed to bowl England out for 104 and got them in about 10 overs 3 wickets down.
Catching can be hard as well as you only have a split second to hit the enter key to catch the ball.
all in all 1st impressions are pretty good, played it in 1920 x 1080 and it looked great, detail on scorecards etc are really good and playing at the MCG was like being there at the real ground awesome.
I'd give it about 8/10.
Can't wait til it comes out on the Wii!
