Agree with your big post DQ, nicely put.

The brisbane fans need to get over that melbourne semi, maybe if a few others players made less mistakes that game the end score may have been different, blaming Sims entirely is geniused.

And if you supported Manly you would have fond memories of the 2008 season rather than hold an irrational bitterness towards Ashton Sims.

He wasn't the one that ran up in defence and allowed an overlap for Inglis to score though....was he?
Semantics.

Say what you want, it was his fault. He holds the ball we win.

Heres another example of the brainless hipocrisy of Broncos supporters. If I recall, a few minuted earlier, Lockyer dropped the ball cold catching a pass. Not a word spoken. Simms gets hammered in the biggest hit of the season and like Heather, drops the ball, copps the entire blame.

Simms was the NSWelshman in that team. Of course he copped the blame from the inbred 6th class dropouts like Hellteam that support Brisbane!

If some of the other signings we had over the years showed half as much passion as Ashton then we wouldn't have been the pile of shit club that we were for sonlong in those early years. He has embraced his move up here like not many have before and as far as I'm concerned if he plays with the same amount of passion in every game then he can stay for as long as he likes. If you blokes think he shouldn't have any animosity towards Newton after what happened those years ago then you got rocks in your head. If it were me I would be looking to square up with 'son of one arm' every opportunity I had.

That is a great sentence. Fans can't ask much more of players than to actually give a shit.

Pffffffffft, haters gon hate.

Smashton Sims has been f**ken fantastic since joining the club and we couldn't care less what others think of his haircut or him "acting" aggressive, while he's playing like a mad merkin he's ok by me.

The mistake was just the icing on the cake for Broncos fans.

Unlike Lockyer who was a club legend, Sims could go MIA & was always good for a brain dead mistake or two.

Personally I don't blame him for that loss. Plenty of blame to be shared around for that game, but the two Joels, Clinton & Moon were so bad for us they had to be hooked. Also I like Sims despite his issues. Thought he was one of our better players in '09 & loved his performance against the Dragons in the semi.

Well said.

I'm glad someone at Brisbane finally saw the light and f*cked off Ashton "brick hands" Sims.
Who the f**k blames a whole football game on one player?
One move does not determine the whole game - What sort of fan thinks like that?

TBH Shorty......that game is not the only failing of Ashton Sims that drives my contempt for him.

Whilst he was at Brisbane he was IMO, a lazy soft, prima donna that was incapable of toughing out the hard yards and being depended upon not to go MIA in a tight situation.

The only thing he could be depended on for is 2-3 dropped balls most games and at least 1 stupid .......costly, penalty

Now I will admit to not having watched every Cowboys game since he joined you guys, but when I have seen him play........those errors are still in him, albeit this year he does appear to have finally got his shit together.

You guys have the manlove for Ashton at the moment ......well good on you.

Don't expect it to be reciprocated by everyone......
