What do you do if a good friend tells you she is having an affair when her husband is also a good friend as is the other guy?

I'm choosing to keep it to myself as it was told to me in confidence as she really needed to talk it through to get an objective view from a non involved person.

Feel like a real merkin though for keeping it from a friend, but the alternative is to tell a secret told in confidence by a friend.

Either option is potentially lose lose.

What would you do?

Serious answer, Disregard the length of the friendship. That won't come down to much. At the end of the day. The partner will more then likely eventually find out she is cheating. Either it be from you or another person.

It's what you feel is morally right to do; me personally. I'd tell. Not to be a dick and break her trust. But because it's the right thing to do. I would not want the poor bloke stuck in a relationship that is destined to end due to cheating. I'd want him to move on and not waste his time with someone like that anymore. If he eventually finds out; and finds out you had knowledge of it then he will also be pretty pissed off at you about it to for not informing him.

She's the un-loyal friend being low enough to cheat; and to tell you? That's some friend by her putting you in such a position.

I'd tell her you don't want to know.

She isn't being much of a friend to you by putting you in that position.

She should have told someone else, there's always someone else to tell.

Sucky friend.

I owed her a favour, we'd had too many beers and she blurted it out..

Since then we have talked about it all the time, she assures me it's stopped now but they are going to remain friends, I want her to stop seeing him 100% to avoid repeats.. Apparently it's been stopped for awhile, but she is struggling with that fact, hence telling me.

I don't hold the fact she told me against her, I owed her pretty big from something earlier so I see why she did (that and too much alcohol)

when things go wrong, I feel like not living anymore.

Do I have a problem and how do I fix it?

Does the wife know?

If she has stopped, does not change it. She still changed it and the guy is more then likely in a doomed relationship. The girl on the other-hand is a pure b*tch. If you had a partner that cheated on you behind your back, and you find out that your friend knew about. How would you feel? It's a double-edged-sword either way for you mate.

Just drink hard liquor until you pass out. Eventually over time the need to kill yourself will go away.
