You say the issue is 'inexperienced' refs making wrong calls under pressure.

How do you suggest refs get experienced other than reffing first grade? You dont walk into the game as a 100 game veteren, you need to get that experience up, and in that manner having a less experienced guy with an experienced guy is good. They make mistakes but hey, your players f**k up alot as well.

Nah, that point makes too much sense, Hasler wont want to know it.

He will have some pre prepared statement about how life sucks and everyone is mean though.

"It's not fair and I think you're really mean, I think you're really mean"

Looks like Finch made poor widdle dessie lie in the wet patch.

I thought Hassler's comments were reflective of a greater manly problem. Seemingly, nothing they do is ever wrong, under any circumstances. It would appear that their coach is part of the attitude problem rife within that club.

Attention, Hasler:

GET A FREEKIN HAIRCUT YOU FOSSIL

He is Mel Gibson in leathal weapon, sans the coolness. He needs to get Danny Glover at his press conferences chimming in with "i'm gettin to old for this sh*t Rigs" every now and then for effect.

Coming from a Knights fan that is hilarious.

It's the same when you go to a job interview. They reject people because they don't have the required experience for a basic position, yet aren't willing to hire people to give them that experience. It's an unfortunate situation but overall I agree with you, these refs will get better in time and to simply expect them to never make an incorrect decision when they've only had a bit of experience at NRL level is a harsh call. In a few years time we'll have a lot more experienced referees at NRL level. Look at, was it Steve Clark the video ref last week in the Dogs game? Even the most experienced make blatant errors.

I would think he would want the experienced ref controlling the game completely with the junior ref assisting, which is what many people have suggested and I believe should be as well.

I wasnt even talking Manly, i was saying players in general f**k up all the time, so how can you realistically expect refs to not f**k up occasionally. Yes in a perfect world they would not but the world is not perfect.

Oh and if you hadnt noticed its 2009 and you are sitting on 8 points. Last season was a brilliant and well deserved win but time to focus on making the finals (because you could cause some damage to sides if you get there).

Nice sidestep of Tommax' logical post.

Isnt it generally the experienced ref controlling with the inexperienced guy the 'pocket ref' anyway? as it seemed to be yesterday? The only other real option is what we had before this, where when the inexperienced ref started in the top grade it was pretty much all him. I think this system is better.

Unfortunately experienced people start off inexperienced, and we are always going to have inexperienced refs (and sh*t calls for that matter).

:crazy:The bears/manly have nothing to do with this, the point would stand whichever coach made the original statement, because it is so stupid to expect perfect experienced refs to just be churned out.

I didnt mention Manly.

Apart from that you missed the point that Hasler was making. He was right.
