ignoring the facts makes you look silly.

How can I ignore them when you haven't even used any?

The only fact you have given me is that Sydney makes more in TV revenue than any other viewing area.

You haven't broken that down into any semblance of a demographic to prove that rugby league is short changed.

Then we really need the AFL statistics lined up head to head against those you provided to see he real picture. We can only speculate what type of TV revenue Qld and NSW gets for the AFL. Has FR ever listed the AFL stats?

It would sure as hell look pretty bad if the Melbourne AFL TV revenue alone is more than the $501M Sydney has for RL.

And what if the AFL revenue is significantly more overall than RL?

Too many what ifs to read too much into one sides statistics without providing the other to compare.

True, if they had the NRL/AFL breakdown, that would certainly help getting the whole picture.

That said, i don't think it is too much of a stretch to state that the NRL should be doing alot better considering that its viewership is concentrated where the majority of the Tv ad revenue originates from.

since we dont have those stats, look at the relative TV ratings in those markets.

AFL in sydney and brisbane 50,000 average (including all games shown)
RL in sydney around 400,000 and 280,000 in sydney

So in sydney RL gets 89% of total viewers between the two and in brisbane its 85% of total viewers.

heres the thing you might not know - TV stations charge more for advertising for programs that have higher ratings

which ones do that in sydney

And in Melbourne? Which sport has the highest ratings?

Why are you focusing on Sydney alone?

You seem obsessed.

The AFL and NRL television deals and revenue are based NATIONALLY. All states and cities - not just Sydney.

Anyone would think Australia revolves around just Sydney. If Melbourne AFL TV revenue pulls more than the $501M Sydney does for RL - then what?

As it stands, the NRL should be concerned because the ratings of The Footy Show and Friday Night Football are nosediving in your favourite city - Sydney.

the national advertising figures are above.

areas where RL is the dominant sport generate much more advertising than areas where AFL is the dominant sport.

melbourne is much smaller than sydney.

regional NSW > perth or adelaide.

And what figures do you have to back up your claims?

What is the revenue earnings for rugby league in Sydney?

yes in sydney RL gets the most ratings out of all sports. sydney is the most valuable advertising market in sydney.

and in areas where RL gets the most ratings across australia also make up the lions share of advertising revenues on fta

And the AFL ones so that your argument actually makes any sense at all?

look at the areas where rl is dominant and where afl is dominant.

rl dominates, something like 60% of all advertising is in rl areas.

perth and adelaide are used as reasons why we dont get more than AFL.

looking at the advertising numbers, those markets are small and irrelevant compared to rl areas. indeed our regional markets are bigger

 I heard Parramatta was but I don't have the figures to back it up. However, I digress.

I'll ask the question again, a little more slowly this time..... what is the revenue earnings for rugby league viewing in Sydney?

I know you can use some words to make yourself sound like you know what you are saying but can you actually provide figures that can back up your claims.
