Great, now I'll get to see another nauseating face of a talentless hack taking more money away from the bands that I love who are struggling to make ends meet.
Australian Idol is the worst thing that has ever happened to music. fat mike, and most band members i have spoken to are absolutely right when they say that it rewards mediocrity.
I'll leave it to the immortal words of 28 Days, who say it way better than I ever could.

To tell you the truth, Im a little cut that Aussie bands cant make much money. You still cop all the sh*t when you go out for a drink. You still get people thinking that youre loaded. It would be nice to be loaded. It would be nice if it could pay the bills a little better, but to be paying the bills
I know it is an achievement. Powderfinger took about seven to twelve years to make any money, yet some sh*t band in America can be loaded and have a house after one sh*t song
or some sh*t pop artist can be a millionaire.
We just cant afford to have sh*t like Australian Idol clogging up the system in Australia. Its not a big enough county. Theres not enough to spread around the actual artists. Theres just not enough room to share with f@#kers like that. We are getting emails from publishing companies every time one of these f@#kers gets signed, asking us to write songs for them. Thats sh*t. Thats your bread and butter. If you really want to make money, its not with your own band (even though people like you), your best bet to make money is to write a song for Millsy. Its f@#ked! You have to sell a lot of albums to pay the rent. Play a lot of shows. Its not given to us. It pisses me off when I see the market. I see the people who are meant to be selling our records, thinking up ideas to make money for them f@#ken themselves. They f@#k us out of the picture.
Its like the Tim Rogers thing. He punched out Mark Holden. You Am I had been dropped from their label, so someone like Paulini could get signed. And this is exactly my point. Tim Rogers has every reason to be pissed. F@#ken Holden, he f@#ken made money in the heyday, before there was no f@#ken downloading. Hes done very well and now hes f@#ken turned to the dark side after how good music has been to him. Good on Tim Rogers for smacking that c@#t in the mouth.
This is all thanks to Frenzal Rhomb because of a run-in they had with Kyle and Jackie O. They had this show up in Darwin where Jackie O was nine hours late. Frenzal Rhomb were annoyed and started to pay out on pop stars and Jackie ran off crying. Kyle got them on the show to apologize to her and Frenzal just slaughtered him.
