Probably the most pertinent question now is: given this information, would one be more, or less, likely to donate to this charity?

You really should show less emotion Sheldon....oops I mean Mr Spock

Who's showing emotion?

People are having a sulk because Inglis is getting paid and they don't know what he's doing.

Let's examine every third party deal and see what players are doing eg is JT being paid for being a reconciliation ambassador or is he doing that for free?

If you want a start a "let's find another NRL player who demands payment for charity work" search you are going to be searching for a long time.

Still, it is funny to watch you keep trying to polish the turd that is Greg Inglis

To be paid monthly suggests he does work for them on a very regular basis.
Does he show up to the office Monday to Friday?
I'm guessing people working for this charity on a daily basis don't even get paid 4800 a month or 1200 a week that Greg gets for whatever reason.

Maybe you should follow him around and find out.

I think people should stop being naive in expecting 100% of their money will go to on the ground outcomes.

No person I know expects 100% of the money donated to will go to "ground outcomes" To suggest this shows your ignorance. Not that anyone would be surprised.

The fact that GI is prepared to be paid from funds that are meant to be spent on addressing & helping indigenous health outcomes, says all that needs to be said.

I'll leave it to be investigated as it should.
Hopefully the tax man will investigate why the payments were paid monthly, probably to keep the transactions under $10,000 threashold for declaration to austrac.

I know, roosters fans are terrible. We are always beating women, cheating the salary cap, reneging on deals, and demanding pay for charity... :sarcasm:

Maybe you should post the salary of the Red Cross's Financial Controller next as proof Inglis isn't a f**kwit?

No NRL player should get paid for charity work. The purpose of Charity work for well-paid high-profile sports stars is that is it supposed to make them look like the give something back to ordinary people in need rather than appearing to be nothing but accomplices in an otherwise useless bread-and-circuses freak show. "Look at these sick kiddies we have visited. Aren't we all top humans? Please ignore those episodes of alcohol-fuelled domestic violence and our fancy cars."

Taking money for doing that instead of just doing it for free is disgusting. $90,000 is a pretty decent salary! It would employ an extra part-time nurse, for example, or maybe put some high achieving but otherwise poor Aboriginal person through a medical degree. Instead it's used to feather the nest of some already overpaid sports star.

This is all before we even start to consider if the source of the funds (e.g. medicare) makes it even worse than it looks.

Terrible stuff and all involved should be dragged over hot coals by their testicles . In saying that unfortunately you'd almost be able to find a link involving any organisation whereas sick f**ks voulanters can get involved . It's a sad world with the current laws protecting these sick bastards .
At ground level The Salvos do some fantastic work mate .

this is all about rorting the salary cap. It could be a charity or anything else. The club and manager are to blame if it stinks. And yes, it stinks.

Lol, yeah im sure he was totally "demanding" it. Calm down loser.

Given it was arranged as a part of the deal to get Inglis to Souths, what else would you call it? He demanded a certain amount of money in order to sign, they agreed and then had to find it for him. That's how negotiations work.
