You don't have a great understanding of Horse Racing do you champ. I guess your logic applied to Te Akau Shark as well before this weekend, a bunch of 2nds and a 3rd in the Cox Plate last Spring, albeit drawn the carpark and unsuited by the race patterns?

You do realize horses have bad days lol. Not every horse is Winx or Black Caviar lmao

At least Te Akaku Shark was getting beaten by good to very good horses. Lys Gradeuix would have smacked anyone last year.

NZ horses especially recently have needed a prep first they have to be ultra good to not need one.

I really hope you and others back Catalyst next run will be the easiest lay of the year. It doesn’t run the mile and not an Australian mile under pressure.

I'm on Melody Belle in the All Star Mile just FYI. You're not listening pal. I said I wouldn't be surprised if people went off Catalyst next start, I'd like to see him run with the blinkers before i'm confident backing him again but you've just completely written him off lmao I just don't understand how you can be so one dimensional when it comes to analyzing horses. One bad run and he's a goat lol

Not many excuses really for Catalyst, everything just looked to suit.. the distance, the race pattern, got out at the right time, gave nothing. Meanwhile Alligator Blood barely got peace while leading them up and killed them, I think the next time they meet Catalyst will be double the price he was on Saturday.

Well at least you are picking the right NZ horse in that race. If AB runs it probably wins though. That’s an IF there it’s been up a long time. Don’t rate Catalyst and if it proves me wrong so be it. Won’t be the first time and I’m one to put my hand up when I am. Let’s leave it at that plenty of nice races this weekend

Just listen to the post race comments from Lane and other analysts. The fact is hes a better horse than what we saw, no excuses in the sense that he was in a good position and got out when he needed to, but he just was not comfortable the whole time which was totally visible. Blinkers are a must for him, I've got no idea why theyve taken them off after how well he performed last season.

Old mate thinks he cant run a mile but 32.16 last 600m in his first go at a mile is pretty solid to me...

Catalyst gone to the paddock after the Vet showed bruising on all four fetlocks. Melody Belle and AB to fight this one out, and that's only if AB takes his spot in the field.

I fear the weight of money will slow Melody Belle down somewhat...that and the Goatfield factor is making me look at other options.
Hope she makes it to Sydney for the Doncaster.

Fierce impact and kolding. The 2 gun milers of the spring will fight this one out.
Major worry for Kolding is he didn’t seem to handle Goatfield at all. Fierce Impact won the Toorak so it will be chips in with him. I’ll get a good price again because he’s a non Vicmong horse.

Agreed, Impact sits close enough and sustains a long run in its final furlong...should go close irrespective of gate.
Kolding might be running like crap but if ridden closer could pull something out of the box. Not written off totally.

Why don’t they geld the boy and bring him back in 12 months? he’s only 3.. don’t think he will be much of a stallion prospect, hardly the best bred thing in the world by Shamus Award. No offence @Haynetrain
Obviously the owners don’t want to wait, he’s won a Group 2 and twice group 1 placed so I’m sure someone will find a home for him at Stud.

When do people learn about Avillus in Melbourne? Yes I know it's going to be in the soft range, but it runs terribly in Melbourne.
