Average age of our Squad next year

With the aquistions of Webb and Reni. Anyone, know what the average age of our squad will be for next year? Here's my guess.

Tahu 29
Webb 29
Reni 28
Grothe 30
FUI ??? who knows could be 50 but play like he's 20.
Robson 29

Anyone concerned that we might be a bit slow or have a bit of a dads army for next year?

The Tits are a pretty old squad this year, doesn't seem to have harmed them. Nothing wrong with an older team sprinkled with youngsters.

I actually think having an older team would be an advantage to Parramatta. Just look at the Titans, they're the oldest team in the competition yet I'm sure both our of clubs envy the position they're in right now.

Youth is overrated.

We're going to have "old" forwards - which is pretty much exactly the way you want it.

Our backline...OK, it will be old too. Guru, Tahu andd Burty are thirty-ish. But they're all still effective (cue Sefton Boy's "I hate Burt" parade).

Interestingly our halves and hooker will be quite young (provided we don't get anyone new). Robson aside, we'll have Brad Murray (22 I think), Mortimer (22 I think), Matt Keating (23?), Tom Hunmble (23?)...Usually you'd rather have an old pack and set of halves and a young backline!

But my point is this - age doesn't matter. Sure, older players are a little slower. But class is permanent. Any backline that can boast the likes of Tahu, Grothe, Burt and Hayne will do damage. And any pack with the likes of Hindmarsh, Smith, Poore, Moimoi, Shackleton and yes, Maitua and Webb will cause headaches.

I think we will be OK, provided this Brad Murray kid can actually play. Then we can partner him with Humble or Mortimer at 5/8 and we will be right.

Brad Murray is graduating from the NYC this year meaning he is 20 or there abouts currently.

Age doesn't matter but I think at times we've looked tired and slow. The titans might have an old squad but you can't say that about them

The frustrating thing is that you want old experienced heads in the halves and at hooker. Hopefully our young guys can thrive off enthusiasm but im not counting on it.

Parra Pete would be around 80 I reckon and captain coach of Gran-daddy army.

I don't hate anyone. My point about Burt is that he's past it. His average runs per game & average metres gained per game are atrocious. Around 78th out of NRL wingers for 2010. He rarely does a hit up/scoot & when he does he's so ineffective it's not funny. He get DOMINATED every time. He won't take a bomb either. Get involved please Luke. Some people in these forums also suggest that if Hayne plays 6 Burt would play 1. Please God give me strength.

Yeah it's a bit of a worry. Burt, Fui, Hindy, Tahu, Grothe, Robson, Shacks, Matua, and Webb will all be 29+ next season... add in Graham if we sign him and that's 10 out of 25 players over 29. Titans are doing well with an old squad this season, but it would be good if we had a bit more youth in our side.

Never realised how close Hindy and Grothe were in age, Grothe looks 25 at most and Hindy looks 35.
