Awesome debut / rubbish career

Firman and Head were so interchangeable, even the footy card people and the officials at NRL marketing got them mixed up in 2004.

Although they did eventually print a correction card.

Who's your meth dealer? Playing for NSW and Australia is hardly a rubbish career.

Exactamundo ol'mate, the number of times Ryles still gets a mention on here is a brilliant career even if he wasn't a great player . . . which he was

A common mistake is over reacting when a player scores a couple of tries ( or even 4 as in Atkins' case). If people really watched what the player had to do, they would realise a lot of skill wasn't required.

A lot of good debuts are overlooked because the player didn't score a try or make 3 line breaks. It can be a case of the player just slotting in & not making mistakes which is more impressive.

I will admit some are clutching at straws here but I do think high hopes were had for the majority of these players IMO.

^ bit harsh having ryles on that list..

the guy represented his state & country and won a premiership..

that puts him in pretty good company..

On Ryles I prefer the opinion of a the better credentialed Dragon supporter in an earlier post
