It's a shame they didn't make a more frutiful effort at co locating to Adelaide. It always smacked of desperation rather than any long term goal of the club and the NRL te reestablish the game in SA. The NRL has a responsibility and should be supporting it with $'s and encouraging support from the SA Govt and the Sharks should make a long term commitment to playing a min 3 games a year there and getting members on board from SA.
a good idea in theory
it dosnt work for the sharks firstly as we have a venue that we own. the bulldogs are the right fit for adelaide. an estabished stable club meaning there will be no rumours of relocation. the league should definantly be pushing this but the shark are the wrong club IMO.
also. were sh*t. who wants to watch that?
the sharks should firstly be looking to have more events at the place, combined with a membership drive and looking to attract new sponsors.
the guys at board level have made a definant swing in a certain direction. wether that direction bears fruit remains to be seen.
If they had decent fans they wouldn't be in the position they're in anyway (not to mention that Cronulla have had more handouts than most).
we have incredibly loyal fans given the zilch, nada, zip etc the club has given us over our lifetimes.
the broncos have had money and success the whole of their 20 odd years. bit hard for a fan of the broncos, whos footy life has been the complete reverse of ours to comment.
however the trend from good attacking footy (lang era) through the noddy snooze era to now.
well people are gunna be less interested.
