Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

I saw this on Brian May's website (Queen's guitarist who contributed some guitar work to a track in the making of the album ... I don't know if this song made the final cut though).
Here is the album cover and tracklisting:

I don't mind the intro, but after that...
I might pick this one up. It sounds like axl has had some talented guys work on it over the years.

The thing is, from what I've read some time ago (early last year maybe?), over the duration that this album has been in the works, there have been hundreds of ideas for songs, snippets of songs, ect ... most of which have had to have been left on the cutting room floor. Axl has hired lots of writers, different styles of musicians, had 'name' musicians on tracks (Brian May being one), ect. This is apparently due to Axl's fluctuating moods and mindsets.

I'm a tad hesitant about this album, but I'll probably give it a go ... especially if the track Brian May is on is on the album!

tbh i don't like it, is this being released as a single? hope not because it doesn't contain any elements that will make it a buyers choice.

Better has to be the released as a single, from what i've heard thus far Better is the best by far.

*BUMP*

i just purchased the album in question at landspeed records in canberra.

im yet to listen as my pc's sound is buggered. however, the song credits are some of the longest ive ever seen. i reckon 2 years of the delay was writing the credits.

Buckethead is credited and has his picture in the book.

Axl thanks just about everyone hes ever met bar Slash, Duff, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum

Right. fisrt impressions.

My PC has a problem that makes all vocals sound like they are being sung by helium junkies or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

That aside.

its pretty different. possibly as far away from "Nightran" that you could go whilst keeping the same singer.

its interesting to say the least.

Street of Dreams is a pretty good track though

Yep, sure is worth the wait.

Just listened to it on their myspace site in full and it is one of those albums you know will be No 1 around the world for a long time. Planning to go out and buy it tomorrow.

for people who want to listen to album

IMO so far 'Better' and 'There was a time' are the two with probably most commercial appeal thus far, i love both songs.

It's very different, nothing like other albums, an album i think will take a while for people to take a liking to it, but much like 'crimson idol' by WASP will be appreciated much down the track.

It's out in stores already, is it?

I was heading to a music shop tomorrow anyway, so that now means I will definitely be going!
I'd be interested to see if Brian May is still on the track 'Catcher In The Rye'. He spent some time a few years ago doing that one with Axl, and I gathered from an article I read online a few weeks ago that Brian's parts had been replaced by someone else (whoever the current guitarist is for GnR I guess). Brian commented on his website that he was disappointed if it was indeed true, but understood the decision to have just the band play on this long-awaited album.
