They need to free up some salary cap space to match Parra's offer for Farah...
Well, what the f**k have they been paying the blokes they've cut? Rep player wages? None of them are rep players. Heighno had to go to England for a start and he even got dropped from the Poms team.
Bad management.
Sign Blair for a fortune, sign old Kitey, re-sign Tuquiri & Utai.
f**k off all the younger blokes. If Farah goes, you blokes are in deep shit.
If true that our salary sheets are in trouble it shows how much trouble the signing of that lump Blair was for us if the supposed $500k p.a is correct.
Kite is in the herald today saying he'd have to be offered double his current salary to leave manly.
He needs a decent coach ...Ashford is like Dean Collis, loads of potential but just doesn't seem to be ever living up to it... 1 good season in 3, poor defence and not enough pace to be a strike weapon.
No worries. The Tigers will probably pay him triple ...Kite is in the herald today saying he'd have to be offered double his current salary to leave manly.
he does know how to create opportunities for his outside men.
Sorry but that is Ayshford's biggest weakness. He could not pass go in Monopoly.
Average player. Overrated. No big loss.
None of these players we are letting go (so far) are elite players. They are all replaceable.
We have needed this type of cleanout for a long time, let's hope that Sheens gets swept up with the broom too and we can start fresh.
That's the thing though, isn't it. We can go on and on about all the talent we've got coming up through the ranks (yes R2 I am looking at you) but when they hit first grade many of them just seem to stall. How could we possibly explain this?Ashford is like Dean Collis, loads of potential but just doesn't seem to be ever living up to it... 1 good season in 3, poor defence and not enough pace to be a strike weapon.
Hope the 20's kids can step up next year, as the cupboard is getting pretty bare, with not much left on the table to buy from.

Signing Blair for those dollars was a disgrace. Pure and simple.
I don't even hate him as a player - I think he can slot in as a role player and he would be really good. The thing is you don't play role players top dollars. They don't win you games over the course of the season and they don't win you big games.
For a variety of reasons, the only one of these players who can comfortably call themselves a first grader for the time being is Aaron Woods. Murdoch-Masila is borderline. Maybe that will change over the next year or so. Maybe it wont. We're still waiting for Ayshford and Moltzen, who were our great hopes around 2006 and 2007, to show us what they're capable of. Not to mention Lui, Lazarus, Miller, Fifita/s, Groat, etc... Would a change of coaching regime have allowed these players to develop beyond simply 'first grade ready', and to become more consistently 'first grade standard'?The irony is of course many on this forum have been pushing for change but when it comes? Always back youth as with Tedesco, Koroibete, Sironen, Woods, Dwyer and BMM.
