If he meant 'he was at one time one of Queenslands biggest stars'. Doesn't have to mean he had only one game for Queensland

Maybe the writer doesn't want to make it bleedingly obvious who it is because no one player matches that description per the timeline provided. Most of Queenslands biggest stars remain in origin until they call it a day.

One player, signed in the the 2010 pre-season does, one of the biggest names in Australian sport through the noughties

I must admit the first thing that came to mind reading this thread was 'Did Ben Jones ever play for Queensland?' However I realised he only played the indigenous all stars game.

You are right he sure was, but there is no definitive time mentioned in 2010, so the player could have signed in 2010 for the 2011 season, or signed early in 2010 for the 2010 season.

Clubs like Parramatta, which are run by non-businessmen, are at a disadvantage, he said. "The smart clubs, which are run by professionals, they are the ones who don't get caught."

I like this quote the best. It's true.

Kate Mclymont is nobodies fool - she doesn't waste her time on petty agendas and bullshit. She may have been tipped off by someone in the Parra camp, fair enough, but I suspect she may have a few follow up articles about the NRL's seedy TPA system..

This is true. Hopefully there is more to come and some names of those involved to be published.

GI fits most of the criteria but i think the guy I'm thinking of fits all the criteria, assuming this story is true (which it might not be)

Wasn't she the one who broke the Cowboys story last year which turned out to be nothing?

Ok I had my fun with the GI thing

My original comment was that there needs to be some of way to stop 'journalists' writing whatever the hell they want with no consequences at all citing 'unnamed sources' as there contact. Name the source or f*ck off
