Sharks are $500 grand under the cap this year, not as good as the Roosters $1 million, but good enough.
I have obtained a copy of the form the NRL clubs have to fill in at the start of the year.
“How far under the cap do you think you are”?

Do you think that Millward could do such a deal? We needed an extra first grade prop and at 350k most on here would have said that this would be a good value deal. I mean even Ah Mau would be on more then that.Woods was on around 850k at the Dogs.
Dogs wanted him gone and Sharks thought he was on inflated money.
Lots of negotiations took place with the Sharks and Woods and Bulldogs.
With Woods the Sharks insisted that he had to look to be on more fairdunkum wages as in around 600k.
With the Bulldogs they obviously wanted them to pay some of the freight.
That is why it took so long to get over the line.
In the end Woods wanted to leave the mess of the Bulldogs and play finals footy so he agreed to have his contract around 600k.
The Bulldogs agreed to pay around 250k in freight.
So the Sharks actually got him for around 350k.
Believe me or not that is your choice but it is true.
Sure so Cronulla paid Woods 350kWoods was on around 850k at the Dogs.

And NRL is saying Cronulla today is well over 500k under cap. So to believe Cronulla pre woods had over 850k in their cap with this team ! is still hard to believe.
We did, James Graham.Do you think that Millward could do such a deal? We needed an extra first grade prop and at 350k most on here would have said that this would be a good value deal. I mean even Ah Mau would be on more then that.
Believe it it’s true.
Flanno is a shrewd operator.
Maloney wanted an upgrade after the GF win and Flanno told him no and if he could get a better deal elsewhere to go for it.
The $500k that we are under the cap for this year I read in the paper yesterday will be front loaded onto some players this season by Oct. 31.
Meaning that’s 500k we take off what we owe players for next year.
