Why dont west Ashfield buy the Balmain Leagues & Football Clubs? They have to be going cheap.
That way every one wins. Both Clubs live on, Wests can own more than one moniker, and the Wests Tigers brand can thrive.

Either that or move the team to WA and let the eels run league in the west of Sydney.

The leagues club site has been sold to a developer and the football club is in a shitload of debt - would be worth about minus 4 or 5 million. Somehow, I can't see Wests buying a shitload of debt.

Here is one from left field - what if Wests Magpies entered into a strategic allegiance with the Collingwood Magpies (largest sporting club in Australia) where they play 4 games per year in each other locality, and market the games to each other supporters and blow ins etc, etc. Sometimes, you need to go outside of the square in modern business/sporting world. Could such a plan work - who knows.
