Like Handscomb, I am very much in favour of this idea, but haven't seen enough to Latham to make a call on his keeping.

Larsen has said they are considering Latham as a keeping option.

Nicholls needs a big score here. I'd much prefer to see Brownlie in the side to him. He batted well enough in the last Test, but really should have shown us something by now, and hasn't.

Selectors haven't helped the issue.

How they can look at that team and think Santer/De GrandPlod are international level with either bat or ball is quite mind boggling.

Must be hard for Watling as well to a degree. either having to bat after them or between them like the meat in a plod sandwich.

The problems are Nicholls and De Grandplod firstly. Nicholls getting 50 will keep him safe for 3 more series and Pakistan batting like they had an inside line to Salmon Butt will keep De Grandplod for a year. I'd have CDG in the limited overs set up. He could be a good batting all rounder. Nicholls I would discard. Even this innings he looks as rusty as Donald Trumps hair piece. His technique is horrible to say the least. De Grandplod lacks the pace. It's like picking Nathan Astle or Richard Petrie to he a bowler.

Never been a fan of Nicholls either, but at least he has a purpose (as limited and unfulfilled as it may be).

At test level we need 6 batsmen, 1 keeper, 4 genuine bowlers. If one of those batsmen is capable of rolling an arm over then fine, but that shouldn't be their primary job.
