very dodgy indeed. I wasnt aware Barrett was among the injury concerns. Boy that is a big slap in hte face for Matt Orford, Craig Gower and to a lesser extent Brett Finch. The selectors dropped Kimmorley and end up replacing him with a guy who has only played one game in 8 weeks or so and is so injury prone it seems every time he farts he pulls a muscle.

What a sorry state of affairs indeed.

Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. John's is an origin specialist but you would have to question his fitness.

I thought the selectors were too worried about Johns' match fitness to take the risk. :?

But you've gotta feel sorry for Barrett, he was just starting to play some good football and injury has cruelled him again.

i am happy he is there. He has played 6 games (thereabouts) in 18 months.
Fitness is a massive question for him. I know he is a champion player, but still.
Best is this is a massive smack in the face to kimmorley!

at least NSW have an organising halfback now.

IMO this makes the game a LOT more exciting - instead of watching NSW fumble round with two 5/8s in the halves, we now have a 'real' halfback (even if he hasn't played a lot of games recently) - makes NSW a lot more competitive!

A completely different set of halves from game 1.

On form a worse set of halves...

Harsh Yes... But I was hoping it would be Anasta Out, Johns In.
IMO NSW will benefit from Johns being in the team, but will still have to put up with Mr Over-Rated.

Yes, johns and barret would have been a great pairing. They always perform superbly. If Johns is in, why didnt NSW pick him with barret originally?

Why not bring in Brett Kimmorley? I remember reading one of the NSW selectors saying they spent hours discussing that selection, so surely it must have been a touch and go thing. This puts a smile on my face, Johns will get hammered out there. Kimmorley, Orford and Gower must feel fantastic.

Honestly, Johns recovers from a broken jaw for five minutes and he's already making rigorous use of his mouth ...
