I think some of the baiting of Hayne is because he tends to play the ball very very slowly after an incident. Oppositions realize they can set their defense when he goes into slomo mode.

Coaches and players know they won't get sent off, so why not try and take out the other teams best player with a bench player who if he misses a few weeks can be replaced? Thats what will end up happening if Ref's don't deal with it on the field at the time it happens instead of putting everything on report so they don't have to deal with it.

And if you're like Darcy Lussick you can add 200k a year to your next contract just because you got suspended for fighting.

And it's really going to stop them baiting him now they know he might actually throw the ball back at them. That's even better than setting your defense.

It was a dumb dumb play. He has to get that stuff out of his game.

He could be the best player in the game if he can get thinking (or not thinking) right.

Our fortunes in the next five years really depend on how and whether he realises his enormous potential.

Roberts is at our club solely to help him do that I reckon.
