That's right. Hayne knows by now that teams are out to bait him - it happens to all the great players until they prove they're above it. So far he's done nothing but prove that he'll let grubby bullshit get under his skin.

He can't control the refs or the opposition, but he can control himself.

Then what is the referees job?

I agree with you that he should control himself but at some point the referees have to step in......the Penrith player crossed the line and got away with it......absolute load of shit it was!!!!!

And on a different note entirely, it's about time people around here stopped death riding Hayne ffs.

I haven't seen such negativity since...? :sarcasm:

Well could it be possible that the opposition players (central back rowers and edge forwards) are coached to target hayne and throw him off his game. Would be a concern, as hayne is easily baited. SK has to address this.

Fail English did you????? Where did I state it's SK fault. SK needs to get jarryd to pull his head in on the footy field.

He's been baited by slater, Payne and the panthers, and it needs to be addressed.

What a load of shit, they were baiting him all game, if the referees actually did their job properly and blew the penalty earlier, there would not have even needed to be a push!!!

They were all over him in that tackle and the fact the refs let them hold him down for so long only added to the frustration.........then he pushes him over and Hayne expressed his frustration.........the ball should have been thrown at the ref as ultimately (just like the Bulldogs incident last year) the ref was to blame for not doing his job properly!!!!!!

They are the biggest blight on the game at the moment and from the games I have seen so far, they ain't getting better, only worse!!!!

As I said though, as long as the refs reverse the penalty every time a ball is thrown in frustration (which is at least once a game) this year there is no problem......

if i was jarryd the thing that would make me snap is not the player trying to bait me but the ref standing right next him not doing a damn thing about it

I don't know why Cleary would instruct his players to bait Hayne in a trial match. Not sure what benefit they get out of it.

Well if they know that it affects him then they'll know to do it again when we play them in a few weeks.

It's hardly an innovative tactic. And Hayne would expect it every week. This time he bit.

Reverse Psychology? Maybe Hayne bit on purpose? :sarcasm:

He is maybe hoping that the panther player try to do the same in a regular season match, only knowing that the refs will come down harder in a normal game; ultimatly winning his team a load of penalties.

He can't control the refs or the opposition, but he can control himself.

I was at the game and saw the incident. It was the most disgraceful piece of refreeing I think I've seen. If Hayne wasn't awarded a penalty for that then let me tell you, you should never see a penalty for holding down a player in a tackle ever again.

Hayne attempted to lift himself to play the ball on 3 occassions and was shoved back down each time and ref was watching it the whole time. It was 5th tackle but that shouldn't mean anything. I was shaking my head for the next 5 minutes. Like Kornstar said, the ball should have been thrown at the ref. The penalty should have been blown well before Hayne was even shoved 3 times and he was layed on before that.

For people who say Hayne hasn't got discipline, I'll say yes he can improve a bit but he has had to cop some utter bullshit from referees and that scum dog Corey Payne deliberately tried to take him out of the game last year illegally and the refs did nothing about it. If I could see it in the stands, how the f**k did the ref, touch judges and video refs miss it?

Anyone saying Hayne is at fault for the incident on the weekend, I suggest you don't comment unless you saw the incident. If I was the refrees boss I'd have that ref sacked

It's besides the point. The Ref failed miserably. The Penrith player should never have been allowed to get away with the incident. What makes it totally unbelievable is the Ref was watching as it was all going on. I've seen players lose it for a lot less than Hayne did, eg Tallis on Ross
