How come only 1 run was awarded from the last ball - Sixers vs Heat- when the ball went for 4 runs - it crossed the boundary rope ?

Score should be Heat 10/105 vs Sixers 8/109.

Another thing in recording a win

If say Scorchers finished with 6/ 182 from 20 overs and Sixers score 4/183 from 19 overs- how come it's recorded as Sixes win by 6 wickets and not by 6 balls ( Sixes faced 19 overs to score 4/183 so 20th over not bowled)?.

Why only 1 run and not 4 is recorded for the last ball in Sixers vs Heat BBL Game

16.6.3 If a boundary is scored before the batsmen have completed sufficient runs to win the match, the whole of the boundary allowance shall be credited to the side’s total and, in the case of a hit by the bat, to the striker’s score.

Pretty sure they completed the single before it went for four...

We got a game tonight by the looks ?? still to be confirmed

No Hi-5s or hugging to be had though...

If Friday night’s Adelaide Strikers v Sydney Thunder game proceeds, the visitors will be under strict protocols never seen before the Big Bash.

The Level 5 protocols will include Thunder players needing to stay separate from one another and their opponents.

Even while they are batting, Thunder players will be required to sit in groups of no more than three people to minimise the risk of spreading the virus which has already fallen four of the club’s players.

Getting messier

Stars 7 players with covid, and 8 staff

The positive Thunder players are thought to be Alex Hales, Alex Ross, Tanveer Sangha and Sam Whiteman.

Following PCR testing yesterday, the Melbourne Stars have since confirmed another seven players and eight support staff have returned a positive result.

It is unknown who has been infected, but all players and staff members who tested positive are currently isolating for seven days. All players who tested negative yesterday will undertake another PCR test tomorrow.

The Stars' next match against Perth Scorchers is set to take place on January 2, however the game also appears unlikely unless serious restrictions and protocols are enforced.

Game going ahead tonight, minus the 4 thunder players

Mate, you might have to put on the lime green and belt a ton from 52 balls.
