If you have no complications from your diabetes such as eye, blood vessel related or kidney problems and your diabetes is well controlled through diet or oral medication, you will be able to donate.

If you require insulin to control your diabetes, your eligibility will need to be discussed with one of our Medical Officers. If, however, you are free from complications, well controlled, your insulin dosages are stable and you have not used bovine (cattle-derived) insulin in the past, you will generally still be able to donate.
