you're being delusional if you actually think the players didn't know about the rorts, I will tell you right now if someone paid me more than I knew I was entitled to I would definitely know about it, just the same I would know if I didn't get as much as I should

You're being ignorant. That's not how the payments were conducted if you bothered to investigate the facts of the breaches.

Players were getting paid to their contracts. They signed contracts, and received what they agreed upon.

"There is no evidence the players knew they were part of an elaborate scheme," News Limited spokesman Greg Baxter said.

"The letters were written in such a way that players reading them could be forgiven for not thinking they were doing anything illegal."

Now, you may notice extra money going into your account, but are you aware the same thing is happening to your colleagues? I bet not.

The official final report

Down the bottom of the page you can download the report. I have read every page and it stresses regularly players were not aware.

***They do say that one player, who left after 2010 should have picked up on it however.
"Alarm bells should have been deafening for one player who was receiving almost double than stated in his contract"

Why would he.

Without him I doubt the Storm even register on the viccy sporting landscape as they do today.

Definitely not...no one has heard of Slater, Smith or Cronk here !..14,000 random people attend each game wondering what it is.

do you think I am a Bulldogs fan or something? they cheated and I already said their squad should of been torn apart with the talent distributed on an open market to other clubs or something to that extent

Bellamy is a worm to the game of Rugby League, if there's a way he can cheat, he will do it (and has)

Does your disgust extend to the Eels as well?

Didn't they have a turn over of 14 players and have two of the games mega stars move on in Inglis and Folau? How much torn apart would you have liked to see?

There are current clubs carrying more rep talent than the storm had during that period. Makes you wonder how they do it doesn't it?

I hope he knew ol' mate, I would be disappointed in him if he didn't . . . can't believe the best coach in the game wouldn't do everything he could to protect his property

they probably knew they were over the salary cap, but they deserved the money they were on. also the players probably thought that the Bronx were over the cap too. Apparently it's impossible to make sure teams are on or below the cap. I've heard it said that it's a gentleman's agreement.

It also looks like that the wealthy English RU clubs are going to court to prove that a salary cap is a restraint of trade. A couple of the English clubs have bn over the cap this year, but the authorities have decided not to punish the, Bath and Saracens were involved allegedly.

Anyway, so if Roman Abrahm-oh-vitch bought the Gold Coast and brought in Sam Burgess, Ben Hunt, Jake Friend, Boyd Cordner, James Graham, Aiden Tolman, Blake Austin and Semi Radrada, they would obviously be over the cap with them, what's the problem with that? Shouldn't people be allowed to spend how much they want on whatever they want?

I agree with what you have said, except him being the best coach.
I used to think he was great until I learnt a bit more about his methods.
He has a team of 3 maybe 4 footballers and the rest are robots running on strict instructions that they are not allowed to breach.
His tactics and game plan produces results but are truly detrimental to the game of RL. This is why many NRL players would never wish to play under him or so I hear.

His tactics have seen us win 3 premierships and make 5 GF's in the past 10 years. Without that kind of record the game in Melbourne may very well have struggled.

Think of it like this. It's difficult enough to convince great players to move to Melbourne, so Bellamy's job is to the absolute best he can with what he's got. If that involves what people to consider to be boring football, then so be it.
